The method is employed in analysis- and synthesis procedures (programs) for circuits with multiple coupled strips with arbitrary dimensions on arbitrary isotropic substrates. It is thus possible to analyze and synthesize e.g. interdigital microstrip filters with thick microstrips. The method takes into account losses due to conductor losses, these beeing the most important at practical frequencies. Measured and calculated insertion losses are in agreement, which has made it possible to present an empirical formula for the insertion loss for interdigital microstrip filters of almost any order and type, thus making it possible to find out in advance whether a certain filter is worth making.","PeriodicalId":227595,"journal":{"name":"1986 16th European Microwave Conference","volume":"676 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1986-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132202096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system employs three cascaded binary phase shifters and downconverts the modulated RF-signal to the baseband, where it is processed by a microcomputer. Measurement errors for 50 dB attenuation are less than 2,5° for the phase and 0,5 dB for the amplitude. Linear system errors are reduced by the application of an automatic error correction procedure.","PeriodicalId":227595,"journal":{"name":"1986 16th European Microwave Conference","volume":"18 8","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1986-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114031692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method uses first a deconvolution of data obtained by displacing a multifrequency microwave sensor across the surface of the heated region to achieve transverse resolution. Deconvolved data are then processed to retrieve the subcutaneous gradient with depth. The numerical results indicate that, at least in principle, the retrieval may be feasible.","PeriodicalId":227595,"journal":{"name":"1986 16th European Microwave Conference","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1986-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114518329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
