They have advantages of accurate tracking, high reliability, broad frequency range, wide temperature range and applied flexibility. The STALOC filters are particularly useful in the microwave tuners where they precisely track the RF bandwidths of YIG-tuned dual-preselectors to a local oscillator at a fixed IF offset. This analysis is implemented by decomposing any set of partially coupled discontinuous lines into \"tubes\". A tube of order N being constituted by N uniformly coupled continuous lines of equal lengths, the previous discontinuous structure is then seen as a cascade of tubes of different orders. As a consequence, the corresponding load and source matrices brought in cascade will be of different orders. A method dealing with the shrinkage and dilatation of these matrices in order to match their orders is developed. The paper starts with a brief discussion of the spectral features in the 23 to 200 GHz region and how meteorologically useful measurements can be derived. This defines the performance specification of satellite microwave radiometers. A discussion of the evolution of such radiometers leads to the development of the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (polar orbiter) and the proposal for a microwave sounder on second generation METEOSAT. This formulation can be applied to all planar circuits. open or closed, strip-like or slot-like, including an arbitrary number of isotropic layers. Recurrent relations allow us to reduce the problem to the level of the strip/slot interface. A unified analytical form of the \"GSDT Green Matrix\" is carried out. The GSDT is well suited for the computation of propagation constants. impedances or pseudo-impedances. field map of the fundamental and higher order modes. The principle of operation of the polarizer is explained, and the design procedure is described. A superelliptical waveguide with two \"Gaussian\" tapered matching sections is proposed for the purpose of realizing a circular polarizer, which achieves 900 ± 2,50 differential phase shift between the cH11 andi sH11 waves:: for 11,7 - 12,1 GHz frequency range. Small signal frequency-domain information (s-parameters) were evaluated from pulse responses using Fourier transform algorithms to de-embed the device parameters from the surrounding transmission-line system and excitation pulse imperfections. A corrected time-domain response was obtained by the inverse Fourier transform of the device frequency response. Theoretical results obtained for the MIS (layered) CPW structure show good agreements with those in the existing literature.
