A Frequency Stabilized Gunn Oscillator with a Leucosapphire Dielectric Resonator

Abstract

General design considerations for second harmonic Gunn oscillators are discussed and an approach to the problem of achieving high short-term frequency stability and spectral purity is presented. The construction and performance of an K-band oscillator involving a system of three resonators used in conjunction with the Gunn diode are described. Results of the frequency stability measurements are presented as well.
