The algorithm unites advantages of linear structures with robustness of the nonlinear ones. The FB UFIR smoother has been examined in Gaussian and Cauchy noise environments in a comparison to the myriad filter. The monitoring parameters for the nutritious hydroponic solution are the pH and the electrical conductivity. Sensors and conditioning circuits were designed and implemented to monitor such parameters. The physical irrigation system based on PVC tubing was designed and is presented as well. Preliminary results showed high accuracy on pH measurements with a correlation coefficient of 0.994 for expected values and a standard deviation of 0.01 after repeated measurements. There are sophisticated techniques to reach this goal, such as regression, use of gradients, neural networks, neurofuzzy modeling, genetic algorithms, swarm optimization, etc. In this paper numerical simulations are done about the efficiency and capacity of the Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm to find an optimal set of parameters for adjusting a function to a set of observed data. Although the LMS method has been very used for minimization of errors and extraction of noise in signal processing systems, its capacities for regression and approximation have been not very often explored. Using simple examples, conditions on which the learning parameters can be adjusted to model a set of training data are explored, using a iterative learning process where the approximation of the stochastic error is recalculated immediately after any parameter is actualized. The BUS dataset consisted of 641 BUS images (228 carcinomas and 413 benign lesions). Besides, three M-dimensional feature sets were built: morphological (M = 22), texture (M = 502), and combined (M = 524). These sets were ranked by PCA and MI approaches, where the first feature presents the largest discrimination power between benign and malignant classes. Next, m-dimensional feature subsets (where m <; M) were created by adding iteratively the first m attributes. The .632+ bootstrap error was estimated at each iteration by using the Fisher discriminant analysis (FLDA) as classifier. Thus, at the argument of the minimum of the error curve is found the best m-dimensional feature subset. Finally, the area under ROC curve (AUC) was used as figure of merit to evaluate the discrimination power of selected features. A successfully structure size reduction was obtained using high permittivity substrates, partial cuts insertion, and slots insertion. We compare sizes of original antenna and the one modified, using reflection coefficient S11, gain and radiation patterns as analysis parameters. The original bandwidth of 5.14 GHz is achieved with gains up to 8 dB and almost omnidirectional radiation patterns. In the case of integrated circuit (IC) sizing, it is helpful because an analog IC designer can know which elements should be more carefully designed. In this context, we present the application of a graph-based symbolic technique for deriving analytical expressions for differential gain, common-mode gain and then common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs). Afterwards, the sensitivity of each expression with respect to each transistor-parameter is symbolically obtained, and the expression is evaluated from an HSpice simulation. The topology of the controller is based on a cascade control scheme; the speed controller (external loop) sets the reference of the current controller (internal loop). In this way, a high performance on the servo drive can be obtained. A online tuned Proportional-Integral controller regulates the speed reference, the armature current is regulated using a hysteresis controller. In order to make comparisons a single topology speed controller (one control loop) and cascade topology speed and current controllers (double control loop) are digitally implemented. Simulation results are validated by practical experimentation. Electrical drive and sensor platform were developed for the tests. Several devices, consisting of InAs/GaAs quantum dots cylindrical diodes, were fabricated and characterised. The main difference between the used materials is the inter-dot doping profile. The J-V characteristic for the devices has been obtained under 1 sun showing an increasing of the short circuit current density (Jsc) by almost 40% in the undoped dots sample.
