They cannot be used to estimate the movement directly because of the effect of drift, the noise and lack of calibration of the MEMS sensors causes excessive drift effect. Usually in a typical application of the inertial sensors are compensated by GPS data, stellar, solar or magnetic sensor. However, these compensations systems cannot be used for human arm movement capture. In this paper we propose a novel method to estimate movements less than one meter with an smartphone. This method is completly implemented on an Android smartphone.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121328447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new model is simpler than that reported in the literature, because it not only can directly be used to fill the admittance matrix without extra variables, including gain and input-output impedances, but also the new stamp has few nonzero elements. Our results indicate that the proposed model can directly be used into a standard nodal analysis, obtaining a reduced and sparse system of equations. Two analysis examples are provided, showing that fully-symbolic transfer functions of a single-ended and balanced differential amplifier can be computed by using nodal analysis. But even, the symbolic expression of the common-mode rejection ratio of the differential amplifier is also computed. As a consequence, the computational complexity during the solution of the system of equations is reduced when recursive determinant-expansion techniques are applied.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127367982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach is twofold inspired: on the one hand, it acknowledges the increasing interest of the sliding control community to formulate their problems in terms of linear matrix inequalities since they are efficiently solved via convex optimization techniques; on the other hand, it incorporates recent developments based on Finsler's Lemma for Lyapunov-based design. It is shown that former results are included as particular cases of the new approach. Illustrative examples are provided.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131973972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper an approach for human action recognition for full body analysis based on a novel configuration of convolutional neural network is presented. The proposed convolutional neural network approach is a variant of multilayer perceptron, which main advantage is its ability to learn the feature extraction layers during retropropagation of errors from the lower layers using as input an image without any pre-processing. It permits to introduce the human descriptive action extraction process directly to neural network for more fast recognition. In order to evaluate the proposed approach a framework for recognizing human walking/running actions has been designed and tested on developed dataset that consists of multiple video records providing 4000 images per activity used for motion detection and activity interpretation.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"276 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122935680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the case of open systems, the components of this layer must be adapted to the capabilities and constraints of mobile devices for processing. The ability of an open application process can be adapted for each mobile client applications generated the concept of “rich-client”. The rich-client applications always have the presentations layer and business layer, inside the presentation layer are the UI components. Traditionally the presentation layer has the processing and the UI component, however the advantage that a rich-client presents is that the device or an external service can execute processing. The main advantage to execute the process inside the device is to use the features and resources of mobile device. In rich-client applications are intended to API's and frameworks UI components are open and processing is performed, if possible, taking advantage of the device's resources. This paper presents the implementation of the speech recognition component for rich-client applications. The API definition of this component is based on HTML5 and JavaScript. For the processing of this component has been made vocal recognition prototype that runs natively on Android and iOS devices. The processing of this component has been tested in a prototype based on a recognition of vowels that runs natively on Android and iOS devices.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124439663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of indirect methods (preference-disaggregation analysis (PDA)) to infer the set of parameters from a battery of decision examples allows the DM to avoid the task of specifying these values. In this paper a robustness analysis has been made to a PDA method based on an evolutionary approach. In this case we use THESEUS method as an artificial DM and its assignment rule for evaluating each individual of a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) population. An a priori task is the fault diagnosability analysis of the system by means of Structural Analysis (SA), from which the redundant information is extracted - analytical redundant relations (ARR's). The residual generators for the isolation system make use of the ARR's and the explicit analytical equations of the system. Given that the system is based on a power electronic converter, the input signals to the residual generators are switched signals, which yield a bad performance of the ARR's. In order to enhance the performance and sensitivity of residuals under faulty conditions, an exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) strategy is used on the raw residuals obtained from the ARR's. 26 faults are considered in the diagnosability analysis same which are tested on a WECS simulator created on Simulink/MatLab.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127570154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At first, an algorithm for the estimation of an unknown function of the internal combustion engine is designed, since it is very difficult to obtain direct measurements of this variable. This estimator is based on sliding mode algorithms, providing a finite time and robust estimation, using only measurements from the velocity of the engine. On the other hand, with the measured velocity and the estimates of the other variables, a robust controller is synthesized for the engine. In order to considerate the actuator dynamics, the proposed control scheme is based on the master-slave structure, regarding the controller for the actuator as the slave one. For this scheme, the backstepping algorithm is used to design the master controller. Then, the calculated control input signal to the engine is used as a reference for the throttle actuator which is driven by a direct current (DC) motor. Thus, a high-order sliding mode controller is applied to the actuator in order to track the control input signal and reject perturbations, as the applied mechanical load, regulating the velocity of the combustion engine. Numerical simulations show the efficient performance of this proposal.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121820495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the latter, a novel aspect of our design was the management and processing of new data dynamically generated within GPUs. This paper presents various optimisations to our first design [1] aimed to use more the GPU, through reducing communication between the host (a multicore) and the GPU, in order to improve performance further. We present experimental results for three applications with different granularities and access patterns. Performance was improved again, significantly in some cases; using multicore-GPU platforms efficiently may involve complex changes to software.","PeriodicalId":226547,"journal":{"name":"2013 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131982969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
