The antenna is designed to meet the physical layer protocol of Chinese National standard GB/T 20851-2007. The full-wave simulation results obtained by Ansys HFSS show that the proposed Fabry-Perot antenna has the advantage of high gain about 18dB, low side lobe about -16dB, and narrow beam about 20°, performances of which meet the Indices of DSRC. It shows potential application in dedicated short range communication system for its simple structure and high gain, especially in decreasing the adjacent-lane interference in electronic toll system (ETC) which is based on DSRC.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132458343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such System-on-Chip (SoC) modules are commercially available for a wide range of low power and portable applications, including industrial, consumer electronics, toys and gaming, renewable energy, sports and fitness, and medical applications. High performance analog and digital peripherals, multiple low power modes, and multiple transmission modes, make these modules customizable for various applications. The PA is a three-stage design with a first stage single-ended amplifier to drive a two stage balanced amplifier. Cascode configuration is employed in each stage to provide high small-signal gain. A gain-boosting technique is introduced in the cascode configuration of the PA to extend high-frequency gain characteristics for gain flatness. Measured results show that the PA achieves a small-signal gain of 26 ± 1 dB from 40 to 50 GHz. The measured saturation output power (Psat) is 16 dBm at 45 GHz with the power-added efficiency (PAE) of 12% and the output 1-dB compression point (OP1dB) is 12.3 dBm.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133724927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence problems that require supercomputers to solve can be solved on desktop computers. These concepts will be utilized to illustrate the advantages for integral equation methodology and for the solution of complex problems using the finite element method. Even though these methodologies will be presented in terms of a frequency domain methodology, these principles can easily be applied to the solution of time domain problems where instead of using a sub sectional temporal basis functions, one can use a set of entire domain orthogonal functions resulting in an unconditional stability for any time domain methodologies. Illustrations will be made for Integral equations, however these principles hold for finite element and even finite difference time domain methodologies.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128631347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ambiguity characterization is very important in designing antenna array for direction finding in mobile communications/indoor positioning/radar, which greatly influences practical capability of Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation. Conventional 2-D ambiguity analysis loses most of ambiguity information in 3-D space and cannot indicate ambiguity from 3-D space out of the selected 2-D plane; Cramér-Rao bound (CRB) analysis outputs unidentified pattern when real measured data exhibits less regular behavior than ideal data, moreover it only provides variance low bound instead of exact value or upper bound. We defined and proposed the 3-D ambiguity analysis with full 3-D ambiguity information of antenna array, and shows (by real measured data) that proposed method is a plain and utility tool for ambiguity characterization suitable for practically designing arbitrary antenna arrays.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127333238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
