Marching-On-in-Degree (MOD) is selected to be the equation solver so as to avoid the late-time oscillation in Marching-On-in-Time (MOT); ACA is a purely algebraic algorithm whose formulation and implementation are independent of the integral kernel (Green's function) so that it can be easily applied to TDIE to reduce the memory requirement. Meanwhile, parallel technique based on partitioning the octree's group is employed either to accelerate the computation. Through some numerical examples, the proposed method is proven feasible and efficient.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127003838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model is based on the multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) measurements at 2.6 GHz. The model is divided into two scenarios, i.e., line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS). In the case of LOS, the path loss exponent n is dependent with the increasing of frequency slightly and is fitted by the frequency using power function. In the NLOS one, the path loss on different steps in the same part of the stairwell is similar, while it has an obvious increasing when the stairwell makes a turn. The statistical, frequency-dependent parameters (i.e, PLstep and PLplatform) are defined to describe to path loss characteristics.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114395769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In reality, the management of the library or warehouse is performed in the 3D space. It is necessary to determine the location of the handheld UHF RFID reader in 3D indoor environment. The localization of the handheld UHF RFID reader can be done using the reader with a function of receiving the backscattered signal from tags. The location of the reader unit in indoor environment can be determined by one method that detects tag ID nearby the reader using RSSI of backscattered signal from 3D arrayed reference tags. In this paper, we proposed one method that a handheld UHF RFID reader unit determines its location by itself using 3D arrayed reference tags fixed on the shelves placed in the libraries or warehouses and proved this method through experiment results.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129059377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Only two bias voltages are required to control the locations of the passbands, respectively. Two kinds of dual-mode resonators are proposed to be selected while designing the passbands. Based on different parameters of even- and odd-modes, there are four types of dual-band selectivity to choose. Three transmission zeros are introduced at the adjacent of passbands, resulting sharp skirt. To demonstrate the design method, a dual-band tunable filter with constant absolute bandwidths was fabricated and measured. From the experimentally results, it was found that the proposed filter exhibited the first passband center frequency tunable range from 1.70 to 2.27 GHz with a constant 3-dB absolute bandwidth 130 ± 10 MHz and the second passband center frequency tunable range from 2.25 to 2.77 GHz with a constant 3-dB absolute bandwidth 80 ± 10 MHz.","PeriodicalId":225547,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Wireless Symposium (IWS 2014)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123815149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of two orthogonally polarized radiating elements with separate feeds. The horizontally-polarized element is comprised of four pairs of flag-shaped dipoles, four parasitical strips, and a balun with tapered striplines for balance-unbalance transition. It has a fractional bandwidth of 55% covering from 1.7 GHz to 3.0 GHz with return loss greater than 10 dB and an overall size of 43×43×1.6 mm3. The vertically polarized element consists of a discone antenna, a round sleeve, and a top-loading ring shorted to the ground-plane for bandwidth enhancement. It has a fractional bandwidth of 137% covering from 671 MHz to 3580 MHz, and an overall volume of 170×170×56 mm3. The measurement results show both antenna elements exhibit smooth gain over the operational bandwidth. The measured results with a 930-MHz continuous-wave (CW) signal illustrated that highly efficient operation is achieved. The saturated drain efficiency and power-added-efficiency (PAE) reached 81.6% and 77.6% respectively. At the whole operation band, the drain efficiency was more than 77.5% and the output power is around 40dBm.
