In academia the purpose of Feedback system varies with management intention as a controlling tool or evaluation of teaching-learning process. Feedback of instructor or trainer by students is a legitimate source to know about the performance of a faculty and consequently of college/ institute. The prime perspective of many institutes to conduct feedback from students and analyze it for improving performance of individual and organization's quality education goal. This work presents an alternative schema using clustering based data analysis technique to analyze feedback data and as a basis for recommendation system. In the result, Two resultant clusters of faculties are formed, one includes all those who performed well and second includes those who didn't. The resultant clusters of faculties with similar attributes are formed by generating Minimum Spanning Trees from Euclidian distance matrix, through faculty rates(rated by students) adjacency matrix. This method not only provide a new insight to management for decision making process but also suggests re-exploration of existing techniques. The result of analysis and implementation resembles with the actual samples.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134632882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike technical losses, this has no easy way to be calculated and fixed. This paper discusses the methodology for detection of power pilferage and its implementation using embedded electronics system. The idea is to detect unauthorized tapping on distribution lines by comparing the energy transferred through the energy meter of a pole and the summation of energy consumed through energy meters of all premises connected to that pole. If these two data differ by an alarming measure, the respective authority will be notified. The communication between pole and premises and between pole and authority have been done wirelessly in the lowest possible cost considering the economic condition of the developing country. The cost analysis shows that if the system is implemented, total power system loss will reduce at least 15% of the current loss.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134031154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps clinicians to assess the likely outcomes resulting from their decisions and actions by enabling the capture of past experience as manifested in the collective longitudinal DNA records of genes. But research works about the measurement of gene similarity of heterogeneous DNA records are still few. In order to determine gene similarity of heterogeneous DNA records, we propose a supervised method LiCo combined with three methods namely-Locally Supervised Metric Learning (LSML), interactive Metric learning (iMet) and Composite Distance Integration (Comdi). Our goal is to devise a clinically relevant distance metric to measure gene similarity of heterogeneous DNA records. LSML method generalizes a Mahalanobis distance which is classified the genes of heterogeneous DNA sequences. Interactive Metric learning (iMet) updates the existing metric of genes in heterogeneous DNAs including new records. Finally, Comdi combines multiple similarities from multiple heterogeneous DNA records. We have found accurate solution of large scale DNA records and trims time complexity.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133031560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a minority carrier lifetime estimation technique through investigation into transient base charge modeling of Non-punch Through (NPT) Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT). Parabolic approximation has been used for derivation of minority carrier concentration within the base. With the help of derived expression, an analytical model has been developed for transient base charge decay of IGBT in all minority carrier lifetime conditions. Better agreements with the experimental results have been found compared to the previously used linear model. Finally, the implications of carrier lifetime dependence on the charge decay rate are discussed, including implementation of such a carrier lifetime measurement technique.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132889926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But many of these disabled patients lack the enthusiasm and motivation for time consuming and costly rehabilitation process. Moreover it is difficult for the people of low income group of Bangladesh to afford regular and expensive physiotherapy sessions. The primary focus of the work was to fabricate an exercise monitoring device from locally available materials at low cost. The device will provide audio-visual instructions of exercises like shoulder abduction, adduction, flexion and extension. It will also provide necessary feedback for executing them through an android device. The monitoring device can locate the position and comprehend the motion of affected limb using an accelerometer. Data exchange happens through Bluetooth using serial port profile. The device will gather vital dataset like pitch angle and number of repeated motion to determine correctness of exercise and save for sharing, hence making it possible to trace consistency and improvement of the patient without the need of constant presence of a physiotherapist. This paper presents the fabrication process, performance evaluation of the device. The scopes for future improvements are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"362 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133123900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Proper theoretical analysis is required to get optimized performance from such cells. In this paper, we present a theoretical modeling framework for monolithic two terminal Perovskite/Si tandem solar cells. The model for each cell is chosen such that the effects of front and back surface field layers, diffusivity, junction potential and absorber thickness are explicitly incorporated based on fundamental semiconductor physics. Four types of perovskite configurations, namely p-i-n, n-i-p, p-p-n and n-p-p, are analyzed. We also find the optimized surface recombination velocities for current matching condition and/or efficient operation. We show that the efficiency of the tandem cell could be significantly increased by changing the properties of transport layers of each sub-cell.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124711058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with a defected core having intentionally introduced walls of elliptical air holes is analyzed with full-vectorial finite element method (FEM). The proposed structure exhibits an extremely high birefringence (4.39×10-2) at operating wavelength 1550nm which is the highest to date and is particularly useful for the generation of a polarization stable supercontinuum (SC). The proposed PCF also exhibits the properties of a dispersion flattened fiber for only one polarization and large negative dispersion for the other which leads to a single polarization SC. The highly negative dispersion found is -662.2 ps/nm/km at operating wavelength 1550nm which is useful for dispersion compensating fiber.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"23 12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122395132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To facilitate it, tattoo images of prisoners, gangsters and other suspects are collected regularly. Up until now, these tattoo images are still manually annotated by law enforcement officers and text-based searching is used to retrieve tattoos of criminals and victims. Researchers have applied image-based matching methods to tattoos. Tattoo images collected from prisoners and crime scenes always include background and body sites other than tattoos. The aim of this paper is to evaluate how these non-tattoo regions impact on the performance of the image based matching methods. In this paper, SIFT and SURF are used as the matching methods. Four experimental settings are designed and over 4000 tattoo images are used in this evaluation. The experimental results pinpoint clearly that non-tattoo regions have negative impact on the matching performance and imply that tattoo matching will benefit from accurate tattoo detection.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123531673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Approximately 80% of them are malignant. Based on pathological evolution of tumor, they can be classified into two types of tumor - high grade & low grade glioma. In this paper, the segmented area obtained from the conventional region-growing approach is automatically selected as the the initial contour to the iterative distance regularized level set evolution method thus removing the need of selecting the initial region of interest by the user. Therefore, a computer aided fully automated technique is developed to detect glioma from multimodal MRI images & segment the tumor region from whole image.
