This paper proposes a novel coding scheme in which wavelet based visual model is embedded into lossless compression algorithm to compress the volumetric medical image data. Obtained experimental results are compared with numerically lossless compression schemes such as Differential Pulse Code Modulation (DPCM), Joint Photographic Experts Group-Lossless (JPEG-LS), JPEG-2000 and High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). It consists of a short-range surface Plasmon polariton (SRSPP) generating hybrid coupler and a SiNx dielectric waveguide. The output transmission spectra of the sensor is observed to change significantly with the refractive index of the detection liquid, and the sensing region can be adjusted by varying the length and thickness of it. For ultra-thin layer bimolecular detection, the application of the wavelength interrogation method has been shown here. It is also shown that varying the thickness of layers can give rise to spectral changes. A brief analytical formulation of the SPP excitation and the comparison of this with the simulated results, which are accomplished using the finite element method via the COMSOL Multiphysics software have been presented. The scope of the study includes the spectral responses of the sensor configuration in energy domains, with varying analytes and thickness of layers along with the advantages and disadvantages of the different combinations these attributes. This sensor is expected to have significantly high effective sensitivity for detecting a hundred-nanometer-thick layer owing to the highly bounded field of the SRSP mode.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115725616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sensing system is applicable in monitoring and characterizing human body movement. The interface circuit measures very small capacitive variation. A number of capacitive values have been set in the proposed system and the produced capacitance variations have been measured for verifying the possibility to characterize the presence/absence of human bodies. A variation in capacitance results in variation on the output voltage. Based on change in the voltage conclusion can be made regarding the presence/absence state of the human body. The sensing method is based on the fundamental principle of capacitance changes that is produced by the interaction of a human body with capacitive sensors. Different human body will exhibit different capacitance due to their height, weight and so on; giving each person distinctive identification. Primary simulation results show that the measurement of little capacitance variation using an interface circuit is precise and linear. The simulation results conclude that a very small capacitive variation can be detected using the developed capacitive sensing method. When a human body enters in the vicinity area right above the sensor, a variation in capacitance as well as output voltage can be observed.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129805663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A typical example is the motor used in household refrigerators. In this application the starting torque requirement is high. It will be good if the motor starts with reduced inrush current and if the amount of cooling by refrigerator is controlled by variable speed operation of the motor. Technologies based on nanoparticles (typically 1-100 nm in size) for heavy metal removal (e.g. arsenic) from water have received huge attention, as nanoparticles have good adsorption capacity due to their large surface area. Effectiveness in removing arsenic from water depends on the nanoparticles type. In this investigation two types of nanoparticles have been tested e.g. hematite and doped bismuth ferrite, to assess their effectiveness as adsorbents for arsenic removal. The adsorption characteristics were examined under different environmental conditions such as nanoparticles dose, initial arsenic concentration, concentration of buffer solution, pH, etc. It was observed that addition of biological buffer for pH stabilization reduced the concentration of initial arsenic before the addition of nanoparticles for treatment of arsenic spiked water.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126741360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ZigBee network specification creates a personal area network for small, less-power consuming radio communication. The vast use in device to device communication of ZigBee turns its possibility in the use of the Internet of Things. A large amount of sensor nodes is interconnected through the Coordinator in ZigBee network. The end nodes send a huge amount of sensing data to the Coordinator via intermediary nodes like routers. These huge data creates overhead application traffic load in routers and Coordinator. A load balancing mechanism is necessary for a ZigBee network to contain multiple Personal Area Networks (PAN) and switch the threshold PAN loads with simplified network routing. This paper represents a novel ZigBee network model based on Stochastic and Widest Path process for proper traffic orientation, queuing and analyze load minimization issues. The two statistical models are put through in the ZigBee network using Riverbed to reduce and balance the overhead load. The result indicates that applying Stochastic process minimize the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer load as well as the overall ZigBee network load. This research will be helpful in large-scale integration of sensor nodes in a balanced ZigBee network for data load.","PeriodicalId":224903,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126927750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Packet error rate (PER) of 802.15.4 PHY layer in the presence of a third node as a wireless relay between source and destination node is analyzed. PER is obtained from the bit error rate (BER) and the BER is obtained from signal to noise interference ratio. PER increases the no. of retransmission as well as energy consumption. The main focus of this paper is to investigate that under which relaying strategy PER is less so the energy consumption in PHY layer can be reduced.
