Four types of adhesive joints were made: butt joints, lap joints, scarf joints and wedge joints. The joined materials were pine and oak wood. Each type of adhesive joint was joined in the following wood configurations: pine-pine, pine-oak, oak-oak. The technological factors were the type of adhesive, the humidity of the wood and the surface preparation of the samples. The U Mann-Whitney test was used to perform the statistical analysis. Results of statistical tests showed the influence of the used adhesive on pine-oak butt joints and wood moisture on pine-oak butt joints. Furthermore, the effect of wood configurations on the strength for each of the tested adhesive joints was compared using the Dunn’s statistical test. The test showed that there were not statistical differences between the joints in configurations pine-pine and pine-oak.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133871629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For these reasons, they are eagerly used in aviation structures. The aim of the research was to check the influence of hybridization on the impact toughness of connections. The static strength and the energy of dynamic destruction of lap joints loaded in shear by stretching or bending were compared: adhesive, riveted and hybrid joints. The tested hybrid joints were characterized by higher strength and dynamic destruction energy compared to adhesively bonded or riveted samples. The research also shows that the energy of dynamic failure increases if the failure of the joint is not complete and causes the connected elements to rotate around one rivet.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133938470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Angular adhesive joints, which are one of the types of joints made in the construction of advertising elements, were used in the study. The bonded material was poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) of 8 mm thick. Two types of adhesives were used to make the adhesive joints: one-component solvent-based adhesives and methylene chloride as a solvent. Experimental tests determined the wettability of the surface of the adherends (with and without a protective coating) and the work of adhesion based on the measurement of the contact angle, as well as the strength of adhesive joints in accordance with the ISO 4578 standard. Based on the results of strength tests, it can be seen that the use of a solvent allows for obtaining equally strong joints as with the use of solvent. The purposefulness of using coatings protecting not only against dirt or mechanical damage in the form of scratches was also confirmed, but also the possibility of increasing (security) adhesive properties, defined in this case by wettability.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127580532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The considered modifications consisted in making a chamfer and fillet on the front edge of the adherend. The purpose of such modifications was to locally increase the thickness of the adhesive layer in the area of stress concentration. Fatigue strength tests were carried out using an electrodynamic shaker at the resonant frequency of the flexible adherend. On the basis of fatigue strength tests carried out at the limited number of cycles equal to 2×106, it was shown that a local increase in the thickness of the adhesive layer in the front part of the joint allows a significant increase in the joint's fatigue lifetime and fatigue strength. The greatest effect was shown for the variant with the fillet R2. In this case, an increase in fatigue strength of 33.1% compared to the base variant was demonstrated. For the fatigue stress level of 20.25 MPa, an increase in fatigue lifetime of 337.7% was also demonstrated. Based on the conducted research, it was shown that the reason for the improvement of the fatigue properties of the joints due to the local increase in the thickness of the adhesive layer is the phenomenon of energy absorption in the frontal area of the joint. Absorption of energy that inhibits the process of fatigue results from, among others, local flexibility of the joint, as well as nucleation of cracks in the locally increased volume of the adhesive.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128023636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a method of surface preparation the process of shot-blasting with the use of three types of abrasives differentiated in terms of the degree of its wear was used. The adhesive bonds were made with the use of two two-component epoxy adhesive compositions based on Epidian 57 epoxy resin and PAC and Z-1 curing agents combined with the resin in the recommended proportions. The measurements of roughness and topography of surfaces prepared for the bonding process were also carried out. After the curing process, strength tests of adhesive bonds were performed on the Zwick/Roell 150 testing machine, according to PN-EN 1465 standard. It was noted, among others, that with increasing wear of the abrasive used in the surface preparation process, the value of adhesive bonds strength decreased and the higher strength of adhesive bonds was characterized by adhesive joints made with Epidian57/Z-1/100:10 adhesive. The obtained results were subjected to statistical analysis.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122825820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Commonly used intermediate cartridges were designed over 60 years ago, and their construction and assembly processes are not significantly different than what was available almost a century ago. Along with the recent development of individual protection devices and with the general availability of modern ballistic plates utilized in plate carriers type of individual armor, it sparks the necessity of designing a new, intermediate cartridge, using new assembly and technology methods. The vital aspect of the ammunition design process is a determination of the materials utilized in bullet elements and its assembly method. Therefore, there is a necessity of evaluating if different assembly techniques can provide the improved ballistic performance of a bullet. The paper includes a comparison of two differently assembled projectiles with steel penetrators: a standard Full Metal Jacket and a reverse-drawn Semi-Jacketed bullet. The designs were evaluated in terms of their external ballistic performance for specific initial conditions using 2D Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations and, separately, with a semi-empirical method. The paper aimed to assess the influence of the assembly method on the bullet’s external ballistic performance. Both calculations revealed a nonlinear relation between the projectile méplat diameter and the coefficient of drag, which indicates a limit where the méplat size reduction is beneficial. The results implicate a perspective bullet construction that would provide the user with better external ballistic performance, more consistent and precise than a standard Full Metal Jacket design.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123348802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dispenser makes it possible to programme colour compositions and to precisely dispense the programmed amounts of dyes from three different tubes to combine colours and achieve the desired, known or new, colour and tonal value, as requested by the client. With the dispenser’s software, the hairdresser can create interlinked databases of applications and mixtures and ensure rational management of the substances used. The modern design, compact structure, and automated operation decide on the innovativeness of the dispenser. The article discusses the genesis of the project, the functional and technical assumptions of the innovative device, as well as the design and development of the prototype and performance of functional tests, paying particular attention to the presentation and description of the following: (1) the original structural solutions; (2) the operation of functional modules that are responsible for positioning and identifying dye tubes, dispensing dyes in precisely defined amounts, monitoring the composition of the colour formula, and ensuring optimum dye use; and (3) the user interface. The structure of the device was developed by joining metal structural elements produced with the use of technologies typical for machine construction with commercial components (drives and controllers) and components produced with the use of additive manufacturing technologies responsible for the complete integration and design of the device. The original structural solution of the device is protected by intellectual property rights under patent applications.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124120158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The frictional properties of the sheets were anaysed using a strip drawing test. Friction tests were performed under dry friction and lubrication conditions using machine oil L-AN 46. Additionally, friction tests of pre-strained sheets were also carried out. Cylindrical countersamples with different surface roughness were used. Relationship between the surface roughness, pressure force, lubrication conditions and the value of the friction coefficient were evaluated. It was found that increasing the roughness of the countersamples increased the value of the friction coefficient in both friction conditions analysed. The greater the pressure force, the lower efficiency of lubrication. The effectiveness of reducing the value of the friction coefficient ranged from 20-30% and depended on the pressure force, roughness of the countersamples and the degree of specimen pre-straining.","PeriodicalId":224295,"journal":{"name":"Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126244936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
