The proposed method was successfully applied for the determination of dopamine (DM) in the pharmaceutical preparation (ampules). It was valid within a concentration range of 2.7 31.25 -1 and the linear regression was R2 = 0.9977. The important analytical parameter include: molar absorptivity (0.45x104 l.mol1.cm-1), the Sandell's sensitivity index (0.03343 µg/cm2), limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were (0.37 and 1.23 µg.ml-1), respectively. It also succeeded in giving acceptable ttest values.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121243681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, no studies have been implemented on the appropriateness of cardiologist prescribing among hospitalized pediatric patients in Palestine. This study aimed to compare the prescribing pattern of pediatric cardiologists during clinical pharmacist intervention versus routine cardiologists' practice at a tertiary care hospital in Palestine. Methods: A comparative study of 48 pediatric patients who were admitted to the cardiology ward in 2020 and readmitted in 2021 was conducted. This comprised two stages: routine practice stage (S0) of cardiologists without clinical pharmacist intervention, and intervention stage (S1) where clinical pharmacist prospectively involved in cardiology teamwork. Prescribing indicators and length of hospital stay were compared between the two study stages using Pearson's chi- square and paired t-test. Results: Compared with the routine practice stage, drugs prescribed per patient were significantly lower in the intervention stage ( mean 5.98 S1 versus 6.87 S0; P=0.043). Higher drugs prescribed by generic names were found in the intervention stage (97.2% S1 versus 72.1% S0; P= 0.002). Patients in the intervention stage encountered significantly fewer antibiotics than in the routine practice stage (60.4% and 77.1%, respectively; P=0.009). The mean length of hospital stay was significantly reduced from 8.22 days in the routine practice stage to 6.93 days in the intervention stage (P=0.032). There were no significant differences in the prescribing of essential drugs (99.3% S1 versus 95.2% S0; P=0.152) and injections (75.0% S1 versus 73.0% S0; P=0.496) between the two stages. Conclusion: Clinical pharmacist intervention has optimized the prescribing pattern of pediatric cardiologists and reduced the length of stay for hospitalized pediatric patients. Palestinian health leaders have to support the involvement of clinical pharmacists in cardiology and other disciplines to promote rational prescribing and drug utilization.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133113710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 365 km2 Gaza Strip (about 1.5% of historic Palestine), which is located in the far southwest of Palestine, represents a strip isolated from the rest of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 by the so-called Green Line. The Green Line is currently supported by the so-called smart security wall, which would impede the ecological communication between the Gaza Strip and the rest of the lands of historic Palestine. This study aims to identify the non-flying mammalian fauna existing on both sides of the Green Line through field visits, interviews with border residents, zoo owners and wildlife hunters, and photographing hunted species. The results revealed at least 21 species of non-flying mammals belonging to 14 families and 5 orders marked both sides of the Green line. This number may change in the future depending on the development of scientific studies or the occurrence of any geopolitical and military changes in the region. Order Carnivora was the biggest and represented 42.9% of the species recorded, followed by the orders Rodentia (23.9%), Artiodactyla (14.3%), Eulipotyphla or Insectivora (14.3%) and Lagomorpha (4.7%). Most of the recorded mammals were located on both sides of the Green Line, with the exception of the Striped Hyena (Hyaena hyaena) and Wild Boar (Sus scrofa), which have not yet been able to infiltrate and cross the Gaza Strip borders. A decade ago, the Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) began breeding in separate parts of the Gaza Strip. The Etruscan Pygmy Shrew (Suncus etruscus) is, by far, the smallest non-flying mammal recorded in the Gaza Strip. All recorded mammals were subjected to poaching and hunting by wildlife hunters, and some species were deposited in private zoos that are spread in the Gaza Strip. It appears that the Negev Desert in southern Palestine and the Gaza Envelope which border the Gaza Strip to the East and North, represent an important depth for the influx of many wild mammals to the Gaza Strip across the Green Line. In conclusion, the study recommends the necessity of controlling the poaching and hunting of various forms of wildlife, whether they are present in the Gaza Strip or coming to it across the Green Line in order to preserve Palestinian biodiversity in a sustainable manner.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128806649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adolescents are among the age groups most vulnerable to these disruptions. Objective: The objective of the present study is to identify the links between confinement and the appearance of risk factors for eating disorders (henceforth ED) in Moroccan adolescents. Method: This is a cross-sectional study; aimed at some Moroccan adolescents aged 10 to 19 years, by using Google Forms for an online survey. A total of 375 adolescents participated in this national survey. The statistical analysis of the results allowed, on the one hand, detecting the effect of confinement on the eating behaviors of adolescents, and on the other hand, to predict the variables that could constitute risk factors for the onset of ED or relapse of ED. Results: The analysis of the results shows that the appearance of anxiety in adolescents during confinement represents a highly significant risk factor for ED (OR = 14.10 [95% CI: 2.82 70.96] p =0.001). Conclusion: The analysis of these results allowed us to conclude that confinement has a strong impact on the eating behavior of Moroccan adolescents, making them highly susceptible to developing an ED, hence the need to implement effective environmental prevention strategies to prevent the onset or relapse of ED in adolescents during future confinements.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115414060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
