A large number of uniform and stable micro bubbles is intentionally entrained to improve the durability and reduce the potential for damage from freezing and thawing, but these bubbles are inversely affected the hardened cement paste compressive strength. The Physiochemical and Mechanical Properties of cement pastes containing synthetic nonionic surfactant Lauryl glucoside (LG) as air-entraining agents are investigated. Different cement pastes with and without LG are prepared for five interval times (3, 7, 28, 90 and 360 days). The influence of the different surfactant concentrations on the air content of the pastes and accordingly the bulk density, compressive strength and microstructure of the hardened cement specimens is discussed. The optimal level of factors to achieve the desired goals are determined. The results show that LG causes a uniform distribution of small air voids in the cement paste, beside its ability to accelerate the hydration reaction, which may greatly improve the compressive strength of the pastes.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133447243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using Gaussian copula, the researcher modelled the joint distribution of the allowable load repetitions and the cumulative mixed traffic loading, in order to estimate the percentage of fatigue cracking. The results of the simulation study using the proposed copula-based model is compared to the popular fatigue cracking models, and the results revealed that copula approach is quite appropriate for predicting the fatigue cracking. The proposed model is considering long-range traffic loading as renewal operation and using the fatigue equation to characterize the distribution of allowable number of traffic load repetitions.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133676071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A cross sectional study was conducted on 85 pregnant women attending the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of tertiary care in Gaza Strip (49-hypertension pregnant woman as patients and 36 normal pregnant women without hypertension as a control). Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) was found to be associated with fetus sex and it was higher with male fetus 28.6 % and twins 12.2% compared with control. The majority of the PIH patient were obese BMI (32.9 ±4.6) compared with control (25.7±3.5) (P < 0.001). Serum cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-C, among PIH patients were high (175.3±56.6, 226.9±130.1, 67.4±51.4 mg/dl) respectively, compared with control (143.8±44.1, 186.3 ±101.3, 48.9±46.5 mg/dl) respectively. Abnormal lipid profile and low HDL-C levels may add to the promotion of vascular dysfunction during pregnancy and may induce hypertension and eventually pre-eclampsia and serious complications of fetus.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125087866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quantitative information on the influence of Dust storm episodes in the indoor environment is still lacking. Real-time PM10, PM2.5, levels were measured in outdoor and indoor air before and during dust storm event in 2012. Relationships between indoor and outdoor pollutants concentrations were examined and discussed. The analysis revealed a significant contribution of dust storm event to the indoor PM levels. The average mass concentration of indoor PM2.5 was increased by a factor of 3 during the dust storm period (215.19±(93.73)μg/m3) as compared to non- dust storm period (67.44±(32.46)μg/m3) and exceeded the values set WHO guideline (25μg/m3). The results show a high contribution of dust storm episode in PM2.5 concentrations in PM10 (PM2.5/PM10) where the average indoor and outdoor ratios during dust event were 0.28 and 0.40, respectively. The I/O ratio values were found to be influenced by outdoor sources for all pollutants during the non-dust and dust periods. The results serve to improve our understanding of dust episode, which may have implications for a development of approaches to control outdoor originated indoor PM and improve indoor quality.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129557551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emission of lines from the plasma of the target in the wavelength range 200-900nm has been carefully investigated at the same experimental conditions. It was found that all the emission intensities of the ionic and neutral magnesium lines are subjected to self-absorption, whereas the aluminium ionic lines were free from self-absorption. The results assure that, in case of the presence of self- absorption effect, the temperature varies from (1.7952 - 1.1433 eV) as the delay time is varied from 0 to 5 μs. Whereas, in the case of repairing against the effect, it varies from (1.3240 - 0.9447 eV) for the same delay time variation. At the same time, according to the McWhirter criterion, the electron density was high enough to establish plasma in local thermodynamic equilibrium.","PeriodicalId":223912,"journal":{"name":"Israa University Journal for Applied Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131190396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
