This paper proposes an unsupervised deep learning method for feature learning in activity recognition using tri-axial accelerometer. The proposed method extracts the relevant features automatically, eliminating the needs of feature extraction and selection stages. We evaluate and compared the proposed method with the conventional method in terms of recognition accuracy on a public dataset with wide range of activities. Neolamarckia cadamba (NC) leaves also well-known as “Anthocephalus Cadamba”, is a precious plant in Ayurvedic medicine. HeLa cells are one of the examples of eukaryotic cells type. It is derived from human cervical cancer cells. This experiment is conducted in different concentrations of NC Leaves (1μg/ml, 5μg/ml, 10μg/ml, 20μg/ml, 30μg/ml, 40μg/ml, 50μg/ml, 60μg/ml, 70μg/ml, 80μg/ml, 90μg/ml and 100μg/ml) for 48 hours. This experiment's result proves that the anti-cancer properties of the extract of NC leaves are by increasing the concentration of extract, the numbers of cell viability will decrease. For contribution, the process of NC leaves extract will be combined with the electroporation process to investigate the effect on HeLa cell. The proposed automated system deals with the development of system detection based on video of eye opening specifically for microsleep event among drivers. This system is used to help in avoidance of car accident that cause by microsleep among drivers while driving. Mainly, the objective of this proposed system is to detect the microsleep event while driving and to alert drivers because there is nobody can alert the driver with microsleep especially when they are driving alone. The proposed system is developed by using a python programming with image processing technique and Raspberry Pi module to make it applicable as stand-alone device. The EAR algorithm is the most importance in the proposed work as the microsleep detection made through eyes closure. Several conditions of eyes opening and closure, light and darkness, and with or without glasses/sunglasses have been tested. From the result, the proposed system shows that the ability of the proposed automated microsleep detection based on video imagery has showing a promising performance. However, the effectiveness of the eye detection must tolerate with the surrounding condition which also due to the type of camera used. Our previous work showed the effects of wood material properties on the vibration modes of a simple model of a classical guitar body without the bracing and air coupling. This paper compares a more comprehensive finite-element model for the coupled string, body and air. Using COMSOL Multiphysics, Eigenfrequency and frequency response simulations were compared to an actual Chladni experiment. A model for D'Addario Pro Arte strings were also developed using manufacturer's specifications. The string model simulation showed 16.68 cents absolute average deviation with 7.21 cents deviation range. Differences on the mode frequencies between the body and the coupled system were also observed. In this topology, MPPT is performed on each PV panel by regulating a part of generated power through the attached flyback converter. By taking account for the efficiencies of the flyback converters, the system global maximum power point (SGMPP) can be estimated. As the partially shaded condition on the serial PV panels changes, the SGMPP can be re-estimated with the new voltages and currents on the PV panels. To verify the theoretical analyses of the proposed approach, a laboratory system formed by three serial PV panels is set up for experimental tests. The selection of technique that is suitable for application is crucial in order to get a good result. The problem occurs when one would like to choose the right method that will give a good segmented image. Therefore, this paper presents the image quality assessment for image segmentation algorithms in terms of qualitative and quantitative analyses. In this project, three techniques of image segmentation which are K-means clustering, threshold and watershed marker controlled are compared with each other and the evaluation result is based on the image quality assessment. Those three methods used to segment greyscale images are taken from the Internet. The objective is to find which technique gives the best result based on the image quality assessment. The parameters used to analyse the quality of the processed image are the mean square error (MSE), average difference (AD), mean absolute error (MAE), structural similarity index metric (SSIM), also the structural dissimilarity index metric (DSSIM). The algorithm of the image segmentation techniques is built using open CV-C++. Based on the assessment, the results, it shows that K-means clustering gives a better result qualitatively and quantitatively while the watershed marker-based shows a good qualitative result. Existing PKOs are mainly designed to perform rehabilitation activities and most of them fully utilized PKO to drive knee movement. This may contributed to discouragement of the voluntary able-body to perform knee movement activities and led to muscle degradation. This paper presents the development of PKO for knee swing activities aided by functional electrical stimulation, FES. The PKO is designed with high back-drive ability to allows FES-assisted movement during knee extension. The experiments were implemented on two healthy subjects performing knee swing for three different conditions; Knee swing with PKO, with FES and with both FES and PKO. The knee angle movement were measured and recorded. The results demonstrate the successful of the proposed FES-assisted knee swing with PKO. However, the processing of the join queries come with higher overhead since all the tables or files involved in the process have to be considered. It can easily be imagined how much the overhead could become when data contained in such tables/files is big data. The use of indexing on Hadoop and its abstractions have resulted in improved performance when processing queries. However, even with the use of some of the indexing approaches, the processing of join query indicates higher overhead, except when the amount of data to processed is reduced by the indexing techniques before the query processing even get started. One indexing technique that ensures this, is the InputSplit based index. This paper showcases how InputSplit based indexing can be implemented in Hadoop MapReduce as well the experimental results of running a join query using such index. Image with noise becomes a problem for gaining information. The process begins by improving the image quality by applying various filters that can enhance the image to be subjectively better. The image result can be seen after the image has gone through the enhancement process (image filter) where more detail can be seen, unwanted flickering removed and the image contrast increasingly better. The objective is to find an image filtering algorithm that gives an excellent result based on the image quality assessment. The image quality assessment is the analyses based on the parameter of means square error and peak- signal noise ratio in decibels by using MATLAB software. The image filtering algorithm then uses the median filter, gaussian filter, mean filter and wiener filter. Different noises such as gaussian and salt & pepper are applied with different noise percentage added to the image to determine which image filter has better performance.
