In Kenya, the performance of hotels continues to worsen courtesy of the poor entrepreneurial orientation (EO) to survive hostile political, social, economic and institutional environment. However, most studies on Dynamic capabilities (DCs) and autonomy have been conducted in developed countries. In this regard, this study was designed to assess the effect of autonomy on performance of star rated hotels in North Rift Region, Kenya: moderating role of dynamic capabilities. The study was grounded on stakeholders’ theory. The study adopted explanatory research design based on samples drawn from across the star rated hotels in North Rift Region. The target population was 575 administrative and service employees of star rated hotels . Stratified and simple random sampling technique was adopted besides using Taro Yamane (1967) formula to calculate the sample size of 278 respondents from the target population. Data was collected by use of self-administered structured questionnaire and was analysed by use of both descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS version 25. The findings showed that autonomy explained a variation of performance of star rated hotels. After the inclusion of dynamic capabilities as a moderator, findings from hierarchical regression analysis showed that there is an increase in variation of performance of star rated hotels as explained by autonomy . The study concludes that dynamic capabilities significantly moderate the effect of autonomy on performance of star rated hotels. This implies that by implementing autonomy alongside DC basing on the stakeholders’ theory, the star rated hotels stands to improve on their performance. Therefore, star rated hotels to analyse their strategic orientation and pay more attention in addressing autonomy besides dynamic capabilities for purposes of increasing their performance. This will give the internal stakeholders a greater sense of ownership and control over business operations as a source of opportunities, innovations and competitive advantage . The findings of this study are likely to help the management of star rated hotels and other stakeholders to strengthen autonomy and DC to remain competitive for maximal performance for economic development and realization of Vision 2030. This has prompted an evolving conceptualization of food security and of mechanisms to attain and maintain food security. The study aimed at establishing food security and food intervention programs designed to respond to the threat of hunger. The primary objective of the study focused on the effects of food intervention programs on food security in Nassir County, South Sudan. The specific objectives of the study were guided by four variables; emergency response programs, mid-term intervention, long term food intervention and coping strategies. The Theory of Change and Stakeholders Theory anchored the study variables. The descriptive research design was adopted, and in the process proved significant in establishing the existing relationship between the variables. The study target population was 9,996 individuals obtained from different institutions as outlined. A sample of 370 individuals was considered by the researcher. The reliability tool was determined by the use of SPSS Software version 25. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in percentages, mean and standard deviation. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in percentages, mean, and standard deviation. The study used inferential statistics to test the hypotheses. The study revealed that an emergency response program with p=0.489 has a weak insignificant positive effect on food security in Nassir County. Secondly, mid-term food intervention with an r (215), =0.048, p=0.001>0.05 showed that there was significant and positive moderate effect on food security. Thirdly, long-term food security intervention with a r (215)=.208, p=.003 showed that there was a significant and positive moderate effect on food security. Finally, coping strategies with a (r(215) =-.17. p=.807>0.05) demonstrated that there is an adverse (negative) effect on food security. The study recommended that a multi-sector response with a lens for relief, development and peace initiatives would be effective in addressing food security. Such higher payments undermined customers but allowed banks to continue to benefit from huge profit margins. In contrast, the introduction of interest rate capping and how banks have been dissolved has resulted to the drop of profitability . A case of Kenya Commercial Bank Limited in Kakamega County was utilized to evaluate the relationship between interest rate capping and the performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The study's objectives were to; identify the relationship between credit uptake, financial exposure and lending practices and the financial performance of Kenyan commercial banks. A descriptive survey research design was utilized. The study's target population was all staffs in the two KCB branches in Kakamega County; including branch managers, supervisors, and other staffs. To sample 103 prime employees, stratified random sampling was used. Questionnaires were used to gather primary data while secondary data was collected using secondary data schedule. The results revealed that there is significant positive relationship between credit uptake and financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya (r=0.606, P=0.000). Further, there is significant negative relationship between financial exposure and financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya (r=-0.282, P=0.011). Lastly, there was significant positive relationship between loaning practices and financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya (r=0.661, P=0.000). The study concluded that there is significant relationship between interest rate capping and performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The study recommended that management at KCB should balance fees chargeable on each loan product as processing fee to a percentage of the loan to make loans affordable to customers. Furthermore, financial exposure that banks face from risky customers can be reduced by improving on credit management and closer scrutiny to weed out those likely to default. Lastly, customer’s needs should be considered when setting loaning practices such as the levels of interest rates so as to enhance its financial intermediation role. The government, academics, general public, and other stakeholders in the banking business are expected to benefit from the knowledge this research has to offer. This study established the impact of risk management determinants on performance of residential buildings construction projects in Nairobi, Kenya. The identified determinants were risk mitigation strategy, risk management skills, project organization structure, and resource allocation. The study was anchored on decision theory, cost-benefit analysis model, and stakeholder theory. The target population was 1024 projects undertaken by contractors in the NCA 1, 2, 3 categories. The applied stratified random sampling method yielded 103 projects as the sample size (sampling factor being 0.1). Descriptive survey research design was used. The pilot study comprised sample of 5 projects. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The response rate from the targeted sample was 73.8% which was above the expected threshold. Data analysis was done on SPSS for both inferential and descriptive analysis. The respondents’ education level was noted to be 42.11%, 36.16%, and 19.74% for post-graduate, undergraduate, and diploma respectively. 50% of the respondents had worked between 5-10 years, 36.84% had worked over 10 years, while 13.16% had worked for less than 5 years. A reliability analysis was conducted using Cronbach’s Alpha test which yielded 0.762, an indication of higher level of internal consistency. The model summary indicated R to be 0.676 which showed high levels of correlation between project performance and the identified determinants. Regression analysis yielded coefficients that resulted in the equation, Y = 1.779 + 0.258X 1 - 0.049X 2 + 0.303X 3 + 0.120X 4 . That illustrated that all determinants had positive correlation with project performance except project organization structure. The study concluded that risk management strategies and risk management skills had positive and significant impact on the project performance of residential buildings’ construction in Nairobi, Kenya. Project stakeholders were recommended to adopt these strategies without fail. The study recommended undertaking the study in other areas to ascertain a comparative analysis on the significant determinants.
