Its hilly and calcareous soil conditions and rice fields without technical irrigation lead to drought, therefore farmers initiated for planting of aloe vera. The Demangan Village Farmers community is one of the groups that cultivate aloe vera plants. They have 20 members with 1,000 m2 area of aloe vera plant. The resulted aloe vera leaves were sold to the aloe vera gel drink producer with low prices. The purpose of this activity was to develop aloe vera leaf processing into aloe vera candy- functional food to increase their income and to diversify aloe vera gel processing. The activity used counseling method, practice and assistance to transfer technology in making aloe vera soft candy and the packaging methods. The results showed that the skills of the farmers in making candy were increased, which shown by the bright colors and good textures of the aloe vera soft candy from their practice. The moisture content of the candy appropriate with quality standard and the candy had antioxidative activity. However, it was need assistance in the application of this technology to guarantee for the sustainability as an effort to increase income.","PeriodicalId":219902,"journal":{"name":"Unri Conference Series: Community Engagement","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131014899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Processing organic waste into compost and utilizing plastic waste into ecobricks are service activities that have been carried out at Putri Tujuh II Housing Estate, Pekanbaru. This service activity aims to provide understanding and application to residents in managing household waste, so it is hoped that there will be awareness of the importance of waste processing in reducing waste generation in Final Disposal Sites (TPA). The method used is socialization, field practice which is continuously accompanied by the implementing team until the end of the service period. The result of this activity is an increase in public knowledge about processing waste into compost and ecobricks that can be used at home, but there is a decrease in the level of awareness at the end of the activity. Bengkalis is an archipelago which is a strategic place to promote MSME products to other countries such as Malaysia and Singapore. The ability to use various applications and content creation for digital marketing is an obstacle for Bengkalis UMKM Community members. This is especially the case for the Baby boomers and Gen X people who were not familiar with communication technology such as smartphones at their young ages. Changes in consumers' purchasing patterns from offline to online provide challenges for MSME actors to master digital skills. Through community service, coaching and training were carried out for these business actors who become activity partners. The community service program aimed to provide knowledge and skills to Bengkalis MSME members to gain skills in digital marketing. This program was carried out through face-to-face and online meetings via zoom meetings so that participants can continue to be fostered for three months. Based on surveys to participants, it was found that this program increases the number of consumers on social media through the content they create during coaching. In addition, participants also managed to understand how to create good content to share on social media.","PeriodicalId":219902,"journal":{"name":"Unri Conference Series: Community Engagement","volume":"139 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134460789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this program is to empower the target community in managing waste into something of use and even economic value. Organic waste if left to decompose naturally without being processed will cause a bad smell and disturb the aesthetic view. For this reason, LOF (Liquid Organic Fertilizer) is the right choice organic waste management solution. Besides not spoiling the aesthetic view, LOF can be used to fertilize any plants around the Rindu Hati Village Area. This program is carried out with the stages of socializing the types of waste, training in organic waste management into LOF and assisting and empowering the community in LOF production. Participants in the POC training are women farmer groups (KWT) in Rindu Hati Village and managers of Tourism Villages. After conducting socialization, training and mentoring, it was found that the level of knowledge and skills of the community increased. This is evidenced by the success of the community in making LOF with a fermented fragrance and no bad smell. The target community is given composter and other materials to maintain the sustainability of the program.","PeriodicalId":219902,"journal":{"name":"Unri Conference Series: Community Engagement","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117070883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, people had to be able to think creatively in utilizing all opportunities in this pandemic situation to find a way out, such as responding to changes in the behavior of people who significantly have new hobbies, namely planting and collecting ornamental plants in the yard. Problems arise when some people have limited land and do not even have a yard, so they have difficulty placing their collection of plants, and because of that, they have to hang the plant. This issue is what can be used by the community to open business opportunities. Training in making pot hangers with macrame techniques is present in response to the problem by empowering the community, especially young people. Therefore, with this training, young people of productive age will be able to independently producing, open new business opportunities, and make a passive income to improve the family economy in the pandemic period.","PeriodicalId":219902,"journal":{"name":"Unri Conference Series: Community Engagement","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129285575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This community service program activity is designed to solve partner problems. The proposal team provided a technology product called E-Ox Level, a proven technology to monitor pond water quality and control the aerator engine to keep it at optimum water quality standards. This technology is energy efficient, because it utilizes solar energy. This product can reduce operating costs and increase production yields. This program shows positive results. The results of its installation in the Budikdamber pond showed that the growth rate of fish length and weight was faster than the pond without the help of technology, and the mortality rate was recorded to be lower.
