This paper applies least squares support vector regression to the CARRX model and a LSSVR-based CARRX model is established for predicting the range volatility of Chinese stock index. Out-of-sample forecasting results of using the LSSVR-CARRX model are compared with that of the ANN-CARRX model. Empirical results show that for the RMSE, MAE, MPE, Theil and Mincer-Zarnowitz regression test, the LSSVR-CARRX model outperforms the ANN-CARRX model both in static and dynamic forecasting. Therefore, LSSVR-CARRX model is expected to be important in developing the novel strategies for volatility trading and advanced risk management.","PeriodicalId":218182,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Seminar on Future Information Technology and Management Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130056050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article introduces group method of data handing (GMDH) theory into multiple classifiers combination, and proposes a novel algorithm GAES for classifier ensemble selection. It is able to select an appropriate ensemble from the classifier pool adaptively, determine the combination weights among base classifiers, and complete the combination process automatically. We experimentally test GAES over 16 UCI data sets and 4 ELENA data sets. The results show that compared with the commonly used combination methods, GAES is statistically superior to Bayesian (Kittler et al., 1998), Linear (Benediktsson et al., 1997) and ESNN (Lipnickas and Korbicz, 2004) methods, and achieves a comparable classification rate than MAJ (Xu et al., 1992) and Genetic (Cho, 1999).","PeriodicalId":218182,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Seminar on Future Information Technology and Management Engineering","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130267189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consumerspsila behaviors in our model are determined not only by their individual preferences and purchasing resistances but also by their interactions with others. To analyze the determinant factors in products diffusion we divide network effects into two kinds - direct network effects and indirect network effects. The outcomes of simulations show that direct network effects act as a brake on the winner-take-all process, often lead to market sharing. Consumers in the market are cliquish and each faction adopts the same product when market sharing outcome occurs. Indirect network effects are great impetus on the winner-take-all process, but the winner-take-all process can be slowed for the heterogeneity of purchasing resistances among consumers.","PeriodicalId":218182,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Seminar on Future Information Technology and Management Engineering","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121921299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, ESA method has failed to consider the given context of the word-pair, and generates the same semantic concepts for one word in different word-pairs. It canpsilat exactly determine the intended sense of an ambiguous word. In this paper, we propose an improved method for computing semantic relatedness. Our technique, the self-adaptive explicit semantic analysis (SAESA), is unique in that it generates corresponding concepts to express the intended meaning for the word, according to the different words being compared and the different context. Experimental results on WordSimilarity-353 benchmark dataset show that the proposed method are superior to those of existing methods, the correlation of computed result with human judgment has an improvement from r = 0.74 to 0.81.","PeriodicalId":218182,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Seminar on Future Information Technology and Management Engineering","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115463713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
