Moreover, the idea of keeping the whole process – from occurrence of a need to buy, through looking for a supplier, until effecting payment via electronic banking or even getting access to financing – in one place – an innovative electronic market – became a reality. The aim of this paper is to show financing possibilities for businesses via commercial platforms, taking into account terms and conditions that must be met. Particular emphasis was put on verification of possible implementation of solutions in practice and on analysis of domestic and international B2B platforms offering financing for suppliers.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120932299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Buszko","doi":"10.15208/PIEB.2016.04","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15208/PIEB.2016.04","url":null,"abstract":"This paper evaluates financial benefits obtained by private clients of banks in Poland resulting from Swiss franc- and euro-denominated mortgage loans against Polish zloty mortgages. As fx mortgage loans were commonly used in period 2005-2009 and quickly dominated Polish banking sector (as well as sectors in many other CEE countries), they became a fundamental element of banks’ assets and a source of risk for borrowers. The main goal of the paper is to evaluate if fx mortgage loans, are more cost-efficient, than loans taken in domestic currency (PLN). To assess the financial benefits, the author proposed mathematical model of repayment of mortgage loans taken in the period 12.2004-12.2012 based on variable interest rates and actual exchange rates. Upon the data obtained from the model, the author used eight ratios for assessments of benefits. The analysis of benefits of fx borrowers was conducted per borrower, per period (month) as well as in form of cumulated benefits for all borrowers and all months of crediting. Upon the research one may find that since 2005 most beneficial in Poland are mortgage loans denominated in euro. They are generally more cost-effective than loans denominated in Polish zloty and most popular in period 2005-2009 fx loans in Swiss franc. The investigation of relative benefits showed also that the most commonly used fx loans denominated in Swiss currency are globally more expensive for borrowers than domestic currency loans. The exception are 30-years loans taken in 2009 and 2011.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126305812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The scope of this analysis encompasses selected dimensions illustrating banks’ activities in terms of environmental care. These activities also include the identification of eco-innovations being implemented. The analysis of the investigated dilemma was based mainly on the desk research of digital and documentary sources, whereas survey data analysis was used as a supplementary method. The results indicate relatively high differences across environmental care and, in some cases, even lack of any activities. Having that considered, we have identified relatively low eco-innovativeness of the examined banks, mainly product eco-innovations.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121552297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This first part of this paper explores the possible reasons why some private commercial schools are still in operation despite not meeting the recommended regulatory guidelines. It suggests stricter actions could be taken by the Council for Private Education to ensure that private commercial schools contribute to the improvement of the overall education landscape in Singapore and makes recommendations where the Council for could increase its vigilance on these schools. The second part of the paper explores the failure of private commercial schools to deliver quality education to their students and the reasons students are still choosing the private education route as an option for their studies.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129381826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The originality of this approach lies in the effort to show that the detention of a relational network is not synonymous with real access to strategic resources and the realization of benefits in terms of innovation. This finding is particularly important for SMEs which lack the means to profit from their own relational fabrics.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127834758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper addresses issues related to the implementation of the last two, with emphasis on the collaboration between universities and the environment. The scientific research market is comprised of universities (supply), business enterprises (demand) and the regulatory sector. Hence, the presented study first contains a brief description of the parties active in the research market, complemented by a practical look at the commercialization of research results. The authors conducted interviews with university faculty, who are professionally engaged in the commercialization of research. Internal procedures were analyzed, as well as strategies and regulations in force in this area. As a result of these interviews and analyses a catalog was generated of methods and strategies of commercialization of research and barriers that inhibit this process. The main conclusion of analyses is that Polish science and development policy is tasked with stimulation of activity of all the respective interest groups in the scientific research market, i.e. private entities in the financing of the R&D sector and the motivation of universities as well. Further improvements in legislative, educational, financial and fiscal solutions remain key challenges in Poland.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129851637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following its ratification by the Republic of Armenia (RA) National Assembly in 2005 steps have been undertaken to actively implement the Bologna lines to integrate into European Higher Education Area. Although the Armenian universities have developed and are operating, to different extents, their internal QA systems, delivery of doctoral programmes along with the Salzburg Principles has been left unattended. This causes difficulties with the recognition of the 3rd level degrees at international level. The following research has been conducted in the framework of Tempus “VERITAS” project. All the Armenian partner higher education institutions implemented fact-finding on 10 Salzburg principles in their home institutions. The results of the fact-findings were analysed by the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) and Education Quality (EQ) representatives. Later on ANQA organized focus group discussions among the partner institutions to summarize the results, to discuss the major lines, to unify the general approaches and perspectives and to come up with the recommendations on the quality enhancement of the doctoral education in Armenian. In the following paper we present the results of the fact-finding process and recommendations on the alignment of the Armenian doctoral education to the Salzburg Principles. The proposed recommendations can serve as a basis for the development of the Armenian doctoral education in line with the Salzburg principles.","PeriodicalId":216779,"journal":{"name":"Perspectives of Innovation in Economics and Business","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114364742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
