This paper concentrates on a shortest path problem on a network where arc weights are represented by different kinds of fuzzy numbers. Recently, a genetic algorithm has been proposed for finding the shortest path in a network with mixed fuzzy arc weights due to the complexity of the addition of various fuzzy numbers for larger problems. In this paper, a particle swarm optimisation (PSO) algorithm in fuzzy environment is used for the same due to its superior convergence speed. The main contribution of this paper is the reduction of the time complexity of the existing genetic algorithm. Additionally, to compare the obtained results of the proposed PSO algorithm with those of the existing algorithm, two shortest path problems having mixed fuzzy arc weights are solved. The comparative examples illustrate that the algorithm proposed in this paper is more efficient than the existing algorithm in terms of time complexity.","PeriodicalId":216414,"journal":{"name":"Int. The main limitation of the traditional TOPSIS lies in the inability to handle the ambiguity in the decision making process. Several researchers have introduced various fuzzy TOPSIS models. However, there is the key shortcoming in all previous approaches. When dealing with real information, fuzziness is not adequate and a degree of reliability of the information is very critical. In view of this, Prof. Zadeh introduced a Z-number for a more efficient explanation of real-life information. Compared with the usual fuzzy number, Z-number has extra capacity to depict the imperfect information. In this paper, Z-numbers is applied to express the relative weights of criteria and the fuzzy TOPSIS is used to rank the alternatives. Using multivariate control charts in such situations with non-precise data leads to misleading results. In this paper, a new neural network-based monitoring scheme is presented by considering fuzzy multivariate multinomial data. The proposed approach is also able to identify the attribute(s) that cause an out-of-control signal. An application example is provided to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach in detecting different shifts as well as diagnosing the out-of-control attribute quality characteristic(s). The problem seeks to minimise logistic costs and maximise service level in a three-echelon multi-product supply chain considering back orders. The layers of chain include suppliers, manufacturers and distribution centres. The parts of logistic costs are discussed and modelled while service level is also interpreted as low level of backorder and shortening the delivery time of products to customers. This problem is modelled using a multi-objective mixed integer mathematical programming. Several constraints due to real-world conditions are also considered in the proposed model. As the objective functions, i.e., logistic costs and satisfaction levels are conflictive so a posteriori multi-objective mathematical approach, called efficient epsilon-constraint is proposed to generate several non-dominated solutions on Pareto front of the problem. Illustrated numerical example is solved using proposed approach in order to demonstrate the efficacy and applicability of proposed model and the solution procedure.","PeriodicalId":216414,"journal":{"name":"Int. In particular, a numerical method is proposed to determine the utility function of an individual or group of individuals. The approach depends on the individual's evaluation of the certainty equivalent (CE) of a decision problem under uncertainty. Later, we propose an optimisation model to predict human preference between pairs of reward scenarios in which uncertainty is involved. The optimisation model implements binary logistic regression (BLR). Both SPSS and Excel Solver were used in the optimisation and parameter fitting. The presented model is verified via collected survey and literature studies. Consequently, assessing BI competencies of enterprise systems can enable decision support in firms. This paper presents a practical framework for assessing the business intelligence capabilities of enterprise systems based on a set of novel factors and utilising fuzzy analytic network process (FANP). Through this, the construct of BI competency is decomposed into three main competency parts including 'managerial', 'technical' and 'system enabler' sub–goals, five main factors and 26 criteria. Using this framework, the BI competency level of enterprise systems can be determined which can help the decision makers to select the enterprise system that best suits organisations' intelligence decision support needs. In order to validate the proposed model, it is applied to a real Iranian international offshore engineering and construction company in the oil industry to select and acquire ERP system. This research provides a complete frame (factors, criteria and procedures) for firms to assess their proposed software and systems in the field of BI competencies and functions.","PeriodicalId":216414,"journal":{"name":"Int. A conceptual model of the collective learning process triggered by branding is formulated and its properties are investigated through a Monte Carlo simulation. The implications of the model are illustrated through two different branding projects in the Isle of Man: the Freedom to Flourish brand and the development of the Isle of Man International Tax Personality. This study reviews the sustainability literature and sustainable supply chain (SSC) and the role of suppliers in an SSC. Literature review identified the main categories of internal and external drivers of sustainable supply chain management practices, including organisational factors, regulation, customers, competitors and society, but there are few studies about their analysis according to the role of suppliers. The purpose of this study was to identify the drivers and analysis of interactions among the identified drivers which leads to IGEDC suppliers’ sustainability efforts. Interpretive structural modelling (ISM) has been used for analysing the interdependence among these drivers. The results indicated that external drivers as ‘governmental regulations’ and ‘pressures from stakeholders’ are the most influencing factors currently driving sustainability efforts.","PeriodicalId":216414,"journal":{"name":"Int. In this study, we explain inefficiencies obtained by introducing firm-specific as well as macroeconomic variables. Our findings indicate that during the eight years of study, conventional banks largely outperform Islamic banks with an average technical efficiency score of 81% compared to 95.57%. However, it is clear that since 2008, efficiency of conventional banks was in a downward trend while the efficiency of their Islamic counterparts was in an upward trend since 2009. This indicates that Islamic banks have succeeded to maintain a level of efficiency during the subprime crisis period. Finally, for the whole sample, the analysis demonstrates the strong link of macroeconomic indicators with efficiency for GCC banks. Conventional DEA assists decision makers in distinguishing between efficient and inefficient DMUs in a homogeneous group. However, it does not give more information about the efficient DMUs. In this paper, a new method is proposed to differentiae the performance of efficient units. In the proposed method a new DEA model is constructed by introducing some virtual units called relative similar units associated with efficient units into the possibility production set.
