In the literature, ontologies were used to capture past occurrences of disturbance and risk scenarios and capitalize reaction decisions in order to enable reuse of this experience in case of future occurrences of similar disturbances and risks. Unfortunately, existing works do not suggest similarity measures that take advantage of semantic and syntactic similarities between new and stored scenarios. This article fills in this gap by suggesting such similarity measures. A retrieval algorithm is developed to compare new disturbance and risk scenarios with stored ones, and to evaluate their similarity in terms of nature and severity of disturbances and risks. A case study shows competitive and promising results.","PeriodicalId":216138,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123304085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These sensor nodes have several resource constraints such as limited battery power. Besides, sensing and communications tasks consume energy, so a power management using optimized routing methods may effectively extend node's operational time. Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks have received an increased interest by researchers and have been developed with different characteristics according to the exigence of application, the architecture of network, and specially the metric used to route packets (distance of path or number of hops, etc). The selection of an appropriate routing protocol is important since a well-designed routing protocol will increase transmission efficiency and maximize the overall network lifetime. A critical aspect of applications based on wireless sensor networks is their lifetime. In this paper, a new routing protocol strategy for wireless sensor nodes communications suitable for both isotropic and anisotropic networks distributions is proposed. This approach focuses on the minimum number of hops of each node to discover the optimal paths inserting them in its routing table. The main idea of this algorithm comes from the Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) graph theory with a modification of Prim's algorithm. Further, the simulation results show that our proposed approach significantly performs in terms of minimization of the number of individual transmissions in a random sensor network for both isotropic and anisotropic sensing area.","PeriodicalId":216138,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126251158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When these systems are transmitting signals with information content, we are most concerned with getting the signal from one point to another with minimum distortion and maximum efficiency, [7]. Efficient transfer of power is another fundamental concern in communications systems. In order to efficiently convey, transmit or receive HF power, devices such as antennas, transmissions lines and amplifiers must present the proper impedance match to the signal source. Impedance mismatches occur when the real and imaginary parts of input and output impedances are not ideal between two connecting devices. Vector Network Analysis is a method of accurately characterizing such components by measuring their effect on the magnitude and phase of swept-power and swept-frequency test signals, [8]. In this paper, the work is focused on the determining of the noise influences, generated by VNA, during calibration S parameters in the goal to minimize the distortion and the effects of random errors.","PeriodicalId":216138,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128259218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Automatic Control and Marine Robotics Unit, within the Tunisian Naval Academy, has suggested a new underwater robot design that is equipped with two manipulating arms. The offered solution allows to combine a system portability with the improved cleaning efficiency offered by the manipulator arms. However, during underwater operation, the robot, located beneath the ship's hull, is exposed to several perturbation forces. These forces are mainly caused by water current and waves. This research focuses on the robot static and dynamic stability when it is exposed to external perturbations. The proposed approach to ensure the robot stability consists in improving its mechanical design. Therefore, we developed the design of the scaled robot to eliminate static behavior. The dynamic model was established and the electronic architecture was described. Besides, the control scheme was proposed. In conclusion, our study demonstrates the importance of the mechanical symmetry design and the control law to ensure the stability of the underwater robot.","PeriodicalId":216138,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133140472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study will focus on an experiment to convert solar energy into thermal energy using a solar concentrator. A solar tracking system is deployed to orient the concentrator in two directions of rotation designed according to a geographical parameter (the study area). For the considered uncoupled multimodel a switching control strategy is elaborated. This strategy needs basically the sensor fault estimation. According to an augmented uncoupled state multimodel, an unknown input multiobserver is synthesized to accomplish the fault estimation task. The fault tolerant control aim consists on maintaining performances nearby the nominal ones even in the presence of sensor fault. Once the sensor fault is accurately estimated the nominal control is actively modified and an additional control law is calculated to tolerate its effects. An illustrative example is given to test the efficiency of the proposed strategy.","PeriodicalId":216138,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124605467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
