KDP is one of the goals of learning so that it is one of the thinking skills needed by students in the 21st century. 4 (four) other programs are 4C (collaborative, communicative, critical thinking, creative), literacy, HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills), and digitalization of learning. Digitizing education, especially online learning, is considered by many to be unable to transfer capabilities in the affective domain. This study conducted a study and analysis of how character education synergizes with digital-based online learning. This study is expected to be an answer to the concerns of academics and practitioners in other fields of education. The method of data collection in this study was carried out through literature review, interviews and observations, and analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that online learning based on digitalization implicitly and exponentially synergizes with character education, especially on character values of responsibility, independence, honesty, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, and curiosity.","PeriodicalId":21574,"journal":{"name":"Science Proceedings Series","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78455242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Substation faulty such as Dielectric breakdowns, originating from the insulation degradation is still a major issue in the power system (1–3). Many methods and techniques with intelligence approaches have been developed to provide a better way of fault detection in a substation. However, not many are willing to adopt those techniques by reasoning the high cost of installation and more sensors required to improve localization accuracy (4). Therefore, to reduce cost and increase the speed of detection, this paper presents a 2-element array antenna to perform as a sensor to detect and localize the electric discharges (ED) produced by abnormal radiated electromagnetic activities in substation based on the direction of arriving angle (DOA) received by elements in the array antenna. The radiation patterns obtained were then visualized using software of signal processing based on the normalized Array Factor (AFN). This sensor has shown its efficiency in eliminating the interferer signals at random DOA of and maximizing the desired signal at DOA of 45˚; the identified angle direction from the substation power apparatus. This sensor has the ability to be steered isotopically and terminate or maximize signals which differ by or 0.0873 radians of DOAs, simultaneously. Having these abilities allowed this sensor to be a cohesive unit in detecting and localizing the abnormal radiated electromagnetic activities in substation based on the identified DOA thus, make it as a promising preventive approach for substation breakdown and improve the performance in Substation Fault Monitoring.","PeriodicalId":21574,"journal":{"name":"Science Proceedings Series","volume":"53 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91419428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique detects fault once it occurs at the vulnerable locations in the fiber optic distribution link by the proposed FBG devices. Monitoring signal in the C-band is reflected by a uniform FBG with different Bragg wavelengths and reflectivities. The FBGs serve as branch identifiers in the network. The reflected signal from the FBGs is analyzed at the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) in the Central Office (CO) by an Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA), to identify the branch with rupture in the network. The simulated result obtained shows that the system can monitor, and detect a fault in the physical layer of the optical distribution network with negligible effects on data signal transmission.","PeriodicalId":21574,"journal":{"name":"Science Proceedings Series","volume":"39 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88386839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dan","doi":"10.31580/SPS.V1I2.724","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31580/SPS.V1I2.724","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of spheroidal weathering on the physico-mechanical properties of in situ granite boulder in tropical environment. This research was conducted to gain more understanding due to lack of study related to this topic especially on tropical boulder in completely weathered zone. A number of 34 in situ granite boulders that naturally formed in completely weathered zone were selected and investigated from two quarries located in Southern Johor, Malaysia. Classification of weathering grade was conducted on the material surrounding boulder based on discolouration, degree of friability and texture characteristics as suggested by ISRM(1). The colour of the weathered material were classified based on Rock Colour Chart (2). Petrographic analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were carried out to analyze the mineralogical and microstructure alterations, respectively due to weathering effect. The changes of physico-mechanical properties at the surrounding of boulder due to weathering were also analyzed including dry density, porosity, point load strength, uniaxial compressive strength and permeability. The dry density and porosity were conducted based on ASTM (3) and Brown (4), respectively. The point load uniaxial compressive strength were carried out according to ISRM (1) while permeability test was undertaken based on Head (5). The tropical granite boulder possessing rindlets with significant different of colours, degree of friability and texture. This differences were classified into four primary zones: corestone (C), inner rindlets (IR), outer rindlets (OR), and saprolites (S) with weathering grade of II, III/IV, IV/V and V, respectively. Due to spheroidal weathering, three to six concentric sheets of rindlets with whitish grey to light brown colour were formed at the surrounding of corestone's boulder. Each sheets of rindlets has 2.0 cm to 3.0 cm thick with total thickness up to 80 cm. The microcracks aperture of IR and OR is ranging from 150 to 200 µm and 200 µm to 1 mm, respectively. Analysis revealed that the higher the weathering grade, the higher and wider the fracture opening formed in the rindlets up to 2 mm width. Analysis exibited that the increase of weathering grade from Grade II to IV along C to S were significantly reduced the plagioclase, K-feldspar, and biotite with reduction of 74%, 74.2% and 87.5%, respectively. The alteration of minerals and microstructure due to the weathering were significantly reduced the dry density, point load strength, uniaxial compressive strength and permeability with 32%, 99.5%, 98.6% and 84.8%, respectively.The reaction of spheroidal weathering is significantly affecting the physico-mechanical properties of the tropical granite boulders by alteration of its minerals and microstructure characteristics at the surrounding of the boulder.","PeriodicalId":21574,"journal":{"name":"Science Proceedings Series","volume":"68 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75917201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
