The reason is that the effects of firewall rules cannot be seen during the configuration time. As a result, errors and loopholes in firewall rules are discovered only at the run time and they often cause attacks. In this paper, we develop a graph-based method for analyzing firewall rules with services. Our new model provides advantages over all existing methods in that it can compute effects of firewall rules at multiple firewalls in an intuitive and efficient way. In addition, it offers a new rule analysis called rule tracking.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134201965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The channel model is assumed to have Rayleigh flat fading. The objective of power allocation is to minimize the total MSE each of which has limited transmit power. The problem is formulated as a non-linear optimization problem. In addition, we investigate robust joint transmitter and receiver power allocation with imperfect channel state information (CSI). The CSI error is assumed to be unknown but bounded by a constant. This problem is formulated as a semidefinite programming (SDP) problem with bilinear matrix inequality (BMI) constraints. Numerical results indicate that, with imperfect CSI, the BER performance improvement obtained by taking robustness into account in the joint power allocation process.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134504173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To assist the orientation process, the camera calibration was used to derive the information of how the individual camera is oriented. Salt & pepper noise was removed by the median filtering technique. The border of captured image was transformed and registered by using the template matching with cross correlation, and matrix transformation to obtain the registered images. Moreover, the weighted average technique was used to obtain a smooth image mosaic. Finally, Lambert-Beer law was applied to construct the final detector output. Result shows that the mosaic X-ray detector output is as comparable as that of the single X-ray detector. The panel junction smoothness of the detector output is acceptable and the resolution is significantly improved.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134373442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The circularly polarized antenna consists of two right angle slot antennas that is two orthogonal modes in phase quadrature or an array of linearly polarized slot with proper orientations and phases. This antenna can generate circular polarization by radiating orthogonal field components from two slots with equal amplitude but in phase quadrature. Two orientations for circularly polarized are investigated in this paper from simulation and measurement results are shown at resonance frequency 2.45 GHz on return loss, VSWR and radiation patterns.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134446922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dynamic route is allocated for a pair of nodes by Ad Hoc on-demand routing protocol (AODV), that establishes a route only when a source node want to transmit data. Routes in Ad Hoc network can be broken caused by a node in the route may move out of their neighbor's signal range or node's battery may be ran out. Many algorithms have been developed to solve the problem [1],[6], one of them is break avoidance algorithm (AODV-BA [1]). However, using AODV-BA protocol, an upstream node of the broken link has to buffer packets during the route maintenance process. In case that the route maintenance is unsuccessful, the source node must re-establish a new route. In this paper, we propose AODV Backup Route Discovery with 2 Levels of Threshold (AODV-2T). The protocol tests for the power of its own battery power and its neighbors' RF signal. And it would cooperate with the neighbors to find a backup route as to fix the weak link problem where the first threshold is met. Consequently, if the power of signal or battery is fallen below the second threshold level, AODV-2T node could switch the data packet transmission to the new route without any delay. AODV-2T can reduce connection tear-off that causes packets lost and more routing control overhead by 15-18 percent compared to the original AODV and AODV-BA.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127908725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This effect to the GPS receiver position error. This paper presents the error reduction of GPS receiver due to ionosphere irregularities by artificial neural network. The GPS position error depends on the strength of scintillation which measured in scintillation index or S4 index which due to total electron content (TEC) in the ionosphere. We used the measurement data which include the S4 index to analyze and correct the position error by artificial neural network. The result of this research we found the position error can reduce to less than 1 meter. In this paper, novel efficient parallel architectures for 32-digit binary coded decimal (BCD) multipliers are proposed using novel binary counters, BCD full adders and binary to BCD converters. These binary counters have been designed and used to add the partial products generated during multiplication using a partial product reduction tree. The proposed architecture focuses on using efficient binary architectures to compute BCD products without the loss of accuracy. The existing and proposed architectures have been simulated and compared (both qualitatively and quantitatively) and the results have been mentioned.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128675448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is mainly based on the conversion of the microwave specifications to the digital specification, where the digital filter design technique mainly IIRPNORM algorithm is applied. With the use of digital signal processing techniques, the method calculates the poles and zeros for the analog frequency response that satisfies the given specifications. By the poles and zeros, the microwave filter can be realized using conventional techniques. As an example to demonstrate the proposed technique, a filter with user-defined specifications over two independent passbands has been implemented and this would be tested in microstrip technology.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117121719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The classification process reinforces the slice structured coding nature of H.264 by making a conscious effort to minimize the variations in the statistics of the macroblock parameters of the resulting slice group maps.
