This paper deals with the precise positioning control method of a LIM using a high-order disturbance observer and modeling and compensation for nonlinear rolling friction of a linear ball guide attached to the LIM. The paper concentrates on windings printed on PCB. This kind of winding offers opportunities to significantly improve motors' performance, although it is more subject to eddy current losses than wire windings. Therefore, considering the harmonics contained in the airgap magnetic field, the work especially focus on the development of a 2D FEM model able to estimate these eddy currents in the copper tracks. The objective is to evaluate the eddy current harmonics and to adapt the winding shape and the motor dimensions, accordingly. The other frequency component controls levitation. Therefore, this proposed control method simplifies the controller. We verified the motor speed and air gap control performance to keep the air gap constant. The focus lies on minimizing the power loss to achieve highest possible efficiency. First analytical considerations reveal the potential of designing electrical machines for periodic, accelerated motion. It shows the influence of the machine size on the power losses due to the dependence of machine force as well as moving mass on this parameter. Based on these findings, a simulation model was created with which a linear machine can be optimized for a specific motion and load cycle. The simulation consist of a stationary and a time dependent finite element analysis of the linear machine in conjunction with an operational model that includes a given movement cycle. It was used to design a flat type linear machine for a free piston linear generator. In a brand new Halbach array using cylinder-shaped permanent magnets, by synchronized rotation in the same direction with of all magnets, the slide of the magnetic field distribution has been confirmed by quasi static measurement. Recently, by an actual test model of the cylinder-shaped permanent magnet type linear Halbach array with synchronized rotation mechanism, continuous slide of the magnetic field distribution is confirmed. The synchronous rotation mechanism of this test model is a mechanical drive by meshing gears. The latest measurement result shows that the characteristic of the magnetic field slide is also reflected by the backlash of the gear and the magnetic interaction of the arranged permanent magnets. Unlike the conventional stranded round wires, proposed winding type offers easy manufacturing and high current densities. Air cored structure eliminates problems related to cogging torque. In order to obtain fast results, analytical magnetic field model of the motor is derived using magnetic scalar potential and verified with finite element analysis. Nowadays, robotics technology is developing rapidly, and piezoelectric motors also usher in its application opportunities. Compared with vertical motors, horizontal motors are easy to be arranged in the driving module, but their power is often too small to be noticed. Horizontal plate motor meets the need of cylindrical drive in structure and has good application value. This paper first describes the horizontal motor developed by the author, and analyses the disadvantages of L1B4 motor, such as low output thrust, easy separation of two-phase resonance frequencies and poor bi-direction performance. The secondary thickness is a very important factor which influences the harmonic components of the air-gap magnetic felid. In this paper, the finite element method is adopted to calculate the air-gap flux densities of the linear induction motors with the flat secondary. Every precommercial wave energy conversion system needs conduct performance testing by an experimental prototype. Accurate and practical wave force simulator is necessary in developing new wave energy conversion systems. This paper proposes a method to simulate the wave force with an electrical machine. The current distribution control strategy is adopted to make the electromagnetic force of the simulator follow the wave force. Finally, experiments is carried out to verity the effectiveness of the control strategy.
