Every precommercial wave energy conversion system needs conduct performance testing by an experimental prototype. Accurate and practical wave force simulator is necessary in developing new wave energy conversion systems. This paper proposes a method to simulate the wave force with an electrical machine. The current distribution control strategy is adopted to make the electromagnetic force of the simulator follow the wave force. Finally, experiments is carried out to verity the effectiveness of the control strategy.
