Future dentists will participate in AI studies as both researchers and users. The main aim was to evaluate the attitudes of undergraduate dental students on artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Secondarily, it was aimed to discuss possible solutions for the integration of AI into education in particular to dentomaxillofacial radiology. Material and Method: A written survey included 16 questions with a 5-point Likert-scale was designed. The content of the survey included basic knowledge about AI terminology, applications on dentomaxillofacial radiology, and future estimations. One hundred seventy-six students attending the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades were included. The attitudes of the students were assessed with the total score. The responses were scored as: Strongly disagree: 1, Disagree: 2, Neutral: 3, Agree: 4, Strongly agree: 5. The minimum and maximum possible points were 16 and 80, and 48 was the middle score. The scores were classified as 16-31 (group 1), 32-47 (group 2), 48-63 (group 3), and 64-80 (group 4). Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was used to test the internal consistency of the questions. One-way analysis of variance and Chi-square test were used to compare normally distributed data. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the that did not show normal distribution. Statistical significance was evaluated with a 5% Type-I error level. Results: The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was 0.849. The response rate of the participants was 83.41% (n=176). The mean total scale score was 57.68 ± 0.651. Group 3 had the largest cluster (67.61%; n=119), whereas the group 1 had the smallest (0.56%; n=1). The total scale score showed no statistically significant difference between the academic years. Conclusion: The attitudes of undergraduate dental students on AI were positive and students are aware of the potential of applications in the field. In this field exponential growth in technology has taken place in the last few decades. At the same time dental graduates also increased. As the patient to doctor ratio has increased, it helped in offering services to the needy, but on the flip side, many qualified dentists are shifting careers due to multiple reasons. This study was conducted to know the awareness of dental graduates on their future prospects in pursuing the dental career. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among junior residents who attended the dental conference using a structured questionnaire. Questions are prepared in a customized form which elicits, knowledge and awareness of dental graduates on their future prospects among junior residents. Results: A total of 210 dental graduates/ junior residents participated in the study. Among them, nearly half of the sample, i.e. 42.4% of dental graduates are satisfied only 50% in pursuing dentistry. Most of the participants, i.e., 63.8% are willing to change the profession, while remaining one-third of the sample, i.e., 36.7% are willing to work in government sector. Only a few graduates, i.e. 22.4% of them were interested in teaching or academics. Conclusion: Even though most of the dental graduates were happy in pursuing dentistry, but most of them were willing to change the career option because of a stressful job timing with no expected fruitful returns in terms of income. This problem is also escalating because of fewer job opportunities.","PeriodicalId":213881,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research in Dentistry","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116179143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Porem, um dos efeitos indesejados mais comuns pelos pacientes e a sensibilidade dental que o tratamento proporciona, podendo durar por algumas horas ou dias apos o termino do procedimento, ou mesmo durante a aplicacao do produto. Isto pode ocorrer pela penetracao do agente clareador atraves do esmalte, dentina ate chegar a câmara pulpar. Diante do exposto, conclui-se que o uso de peroxido de hidrogenio para clareamento dental apresenta maior eficacia relacionada ao tempo de tratamento e resultado final alcancado, entretanto ele esta associado a maiores indices de sensibilidade. Materials and methods: Forty-five permanent maxillary first molars with moderately curved palatal roots (20°-30°) were divided into three groups, and large root canals were created with apical diameter #35 (Group 1), #40 (Group 2) or #50 (Group 3) by using BioRace NiTi System. Then, they were reshaped with the MaxWire alloy file, XP-endo Shaper®. Canals were scanned before and after instrumentation by using the CBCT scanner. Canal transportation (CT), centering ratio (CR), % increased prepared area (PA), and % increased prepared outline (PO) at 2, 3, and 4 mm from the apex were calculated. Data were statistically analyzed at P < 0.05. Results: There was a significant difference in the mean increase in PO in all apical sizes and all three levels. At both 3 mm and 4 mm levels the maximum PA and PO were achieved in apical size 35, while at 2 mm level the maximum values were obtained in apical size 40. There was no statistically significant difference in CT and CR within groups at 2 mm distance from the apex. Conclusion: Max Wire alloy technology of this novel instrument makes it possible to clean and touch the dentin walls of large and curved root canals. This review article focuses on the various aspects of implant protective occlusion. Our scientific literature regarding implant occlusion, particularly in implant-supported fixed dental prostheses remains controversial. Materials and methods: A search strategy was performed in MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar with keywords – ‘implants’ and ‘occlusion’, ‘implants’ and ‘fixed prosthesis, ‘implants’ and ‘fixed dental prostheses’, ‘implants’ and ‘partial edentulism’, ‘implants’ and ‘complications’, ‘implants’ and ‘failures’, ‘implants’ and ‘cantilever’, ‘implants’ and ‘occlusal load’. Results: 135 articles were retrieved. After hand search a total of 290 articles were identified. Ultimately, 30 articles were selected and summarized and discussed as they met the selection criteria. Conclusion: Most of the available clinical data are controversial. Implant-protected occlusion can be accomplished by decreasing the width of the occlusal table and improving the direction of force. By doing these things, we can minimize overload on bone-implant interfaces and implant prostheses, to maintain an implant load within the physiological limits of individualized occlusion, and ultimately provide long-term stability of implants and implant prostheses. Current clinical practices rely heavily on principles extracted from the natural dentition or removable dental prostheses on complete edentulous patients and on expert opinions.","PeriodicalId":213881,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research in Dentistry","volume":"38 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120884089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
