On the other hand, the use of BIM is increasing in the construction field. BIM is used for information linkage and performance analysis simulation by building life-cycle. In particular, BIM-based legality review can be conducted at Construction Consult. In line with these changes in the architectural field, it is necessary to conduct research to use BIM in the CPTED field. It will be possible to supplement various limitations that have appeared in the application of CPTED for each building life-cycle stage. Therefore, in this study, the legal system for applying BIM and CPTED in the Construction Consent stage is considered. Next, this study examines BIM-related studies that appeared in 1) the architectural design stage, 2) the architectural construction consultation stage, and 3) the CPTED design certification stage. The purpose of this is to derive future research directions.","PeriodicalId":213826,"journal":{"name":"Korea CPTED Association","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131789925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to look into the effects of school CCTV on prevention of the school bullying in the Daejeon Metropolitan City using multiple regression analysis and suggest the policy implications for the improvement of the school CCTV. First of all, this study focused on the preceding literature reviews dealing with the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design(CPTED). Second, it searched for the school CCTV installation status by autonomous districts and school levels in the Daejeon Metropolitan City. Third, it also performed the multiple regression analysis to investigate the effects of school CCTV on prevention of the school bullying. The result meant that the enlargement of school CCTVs in the Daejeon Metropolitan City were ineffective with the decrease in the school bullying. It suggests that both the quantitative increase in the school CCTV and the interactions between teachers and students should be combined on the base of defensible mechanisms such as the machine surveillance through the CCTV.","PeriodicalId":213826,"journal":{"name":"Korea CPTED Association","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122174362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results from field survey for the perceived safety from crime by various spatial units in school revealed the mean difference between design practitioners and users at the statistically significant level. In addition, there was a clear gap in the effectiveness and importance order of some CPTED elements between design practitioners and users. More specifically, access control to a secluded spot outside, installing CCTV in a secluded spot outside building, improving territoriality in parking areas, and reinforcing maintenance of indoor rest-room are highly ranked as an important design element among the users, while those are not among the design practitioners. Such evaluation gaps might represent design consideration on aesthetic impression of design practitioners. Therefore, design consideration on utilization, along with design consideration on aesthetic impression, should be reflected as the feedback from users in the design process for the substantial improvement of the performance of CPTED in school.","PeriodicalId":213826,"journal":{"name":"Korea CPTED Association","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124170749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, women have a higher fear of crime than men and are more sensitive to the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to study environmental factors that can lower the fear of crime in standards of women. This study analyzed the difference between the fear of crime for men and women, their crime-related attitudes, and the effect of street environmental factors on the fear of crime for men and women in low-rise multi-family housing areas. For this purpose, we identified the factors affecting the fear of crime in the streets in the low-rise multi-family housing area by analyzing previous studies. We presented various levels of street environmental factors in four categories: building, street space, lighting, and security system, and conducted a photograph-questionnaire survey. The results showed a clear difference in fear of crime and crime-related attitudes according to gender. We also found a clear difference in fear of crime perceived by men and women according to the street environmental factors of low-rise multi-family housing areas. Furthermore, we identified the lack of natural surveillance and insufficient lighting as street environmental factors that women feel higher fear of crime. Lastly, floor signage and sign boards installed for the Safe Trip Home Project for Women can reduce fear of crime for women. These findings can provide fundamental data for designing a safe urban street environment for men and women without fear of crime.","PeriodicalId":213826,"journal":{"name":"Korea CPTED Association","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130694577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been found that: first, in the case of central government buildings, “access management of government buildings” and “protection diagnosis” were newly established in the 「government building management regulations and enforcement regulations」 in December, 2016. However, this change has yet to be established in local government buildings. In addition, it was confirmed that the contents of regulations reflected here were far below par compared to the crime prevention building standards applied to personal apartments under the 「Building Act」. Second, as rallies and protests that take place near government office buildings increase every year, surveys confirm that exposure to noise has a negative impact on work performance. Finally, it is crucial that crime preventative designs should be strictly controlled by regulation (ex. building codes), so that civil servants are protected from crimes. It is necessary to improve sound insulation performance of windows to minimize the noise generated by protests to not hinder the work performance of civil servants. These findings help understand the current environmental conditions of government office buildings associated with crime prevention facilities. There is room for improvement in the principles and process to make the government office building better, safer and more pleasant for both citizens and officials.","PeriodicalId":213826,"journal":{"name":"Korea CPTED Association","volume":"258 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116418363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The crime rate in this country is low at the global level, but the problem is that as society becomes more stable, the need for safety increases and social anxiety about crime increases. There have been many changes since the introduction of Crime Prevention Environment Design (CPTED) to Korea in the 1990s to spatially prevent such crimes. One of them is to reorganize the crime prevention environment design legally and institutionally. Since the provision of crime prevention environment design was newly established in the Building Act in 2004, crime prevention environment design guidelines for each local government have been newly established. This reflects the urgent need for a design guideline that reflects the characteristics of each region, but it was analyzed that some local governments have not yet created a crime prevention environment design guideline. In addition, the purpose of the guidelines developed by each local government was not clear in some cases, and it was found that there were many insufficient guidelines for use in the field. Safety in the country should be the first policy direction, and in order to respond to this, the crime prevention environment design guidelines should be continuously newly established and revised in the future. To this end, we tried to find problems by analyzing the production status of each local government's crime prevention environment design guidelines.","PeriodicalId":213826,"journal":{"name":"Korea CPTED Association","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125562625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
