Results from field survey for the perceived safety from crime by various spatial units in school revealed the mean difference between design practitioners and users at the statistically significant level. In addition, there was a clear gap in the effectiveness and importance order of some CPTED elements between design practitioners and users. More specifically, access control to a secluded spot outside, installing CCTV in a secluded spot outside building, improving territoriality in parking areas, and reinforcing maintenance of indoor rest-room are highly ranked as an important design element among the users, while those are not among the design practitioners. Such evaluation gaps might represent design consideration on aesthetic impression of design practitioners. 摘要
