It explores the use of specific procedures for conducting security examinations of such a system, allowing gaining and store relevant evidence. Test results in laboratory-scale environment demonstrate the feasibility of performing general methods on live computer systems, operations systems in particular, all intended for the scale of forensic analyses. The study also weighs the relative contributions of possible forensic data sources which may a forensic analyst reveal throughout the analysis, especially important data obtained from operation systems Windows and Linux, whereby it is possible to extract valuable information. Finally, the exploratory activities result in the list of procedures applicable to Linux operating system that are seen to satisfy the security requirements for important data. The present study also intends to examine the mediating role of computer security as a process or mechanism by which to explain the relationship between forensic analysis and computing systems.","PeriodicalId":212597,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116757803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some theories developed as a negative reaction to earlier ones. The others learning theories built foundational theories, looking a specific context for learning, or taking them to more sophisticated level. Positive features from many theories influence teaching/learning process in schools to this day. From the point of view information and communication technology there were four learning theories that have been often utilized in the creation of instructional environments: behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, and connectivism as learning theory for the digital age. Connectivism was introduced as a theory of learning based on the premise that knowledge exists in the world rather than in the head of an individual. Paper will discuss impact technology on relations to learning theories behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, and connectivism in school practice with research results of science teachers. The last part of paper gives example of using ICT in the inquiry-based education in science subjects.","PeriodicalId":212597,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133283801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Networking Academy initiative by Cisco is the worldwide de-facto standard for training in networking knowledge and skills on a basic-to-intermediary level of difficulty. As a Corporate Social Responsibility program, the Networking Academy courses are well-rounded in delivering applied knowledge and skills. For a higher level education, however, more principial and fundamental knowledge and approaches are often called for. We propose a series of suggestions that enhance the Networking Academy experience and enrich it with approaches common in a university environment. The common denominator of these suggestions is the boldness to know more and to go deep into the knowledge, thereby intriguing engaged and knowledgeable students, allowing them to truly embrace the essence of networking topics.","PeriodicalId":212597,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124078398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of such places is the education of the elderly using emerging technologies in effective and conducive ways. Moreover, the development of effective ICT solutions to improve daily life of elderly and disabled people gets more significant concern during last several years. Exploitation of low cost IT equipment in combination with suitable e-health, e-learning or social services can contribute to reduction of time, costs and other expenditures not only for recipients but for providers too. These objectives motivate a formation of SPES project (Support Patients through E-Services Solutions1) that aims to design and implement an integrated software platform with health, social and entertainment services for different purposes. The implementation of this project leads to the exchange of knowledge between IT professional, researchers from universities, representatives of government on the different levels and providers of social or medical services. The usability and effectiveness of proposed solution will be evaluated within four pilots in European cities: Ferrara, Vienna, Brno and Kosice.","PeriodicalId":212597,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116726282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For repetitive, comfortable and friendly use it is advantageous to use graphic user interface (GUI) enabling easy evaluation of system behavior: visualization of phenomena, model performance, changes of parameters, input and output signals. Development of GUI is enough bothersome and there were searched ways to satisfy requirements to overcome these difficulties. MATLAB presents GUI a comfortable tool for development of virtual models. In the paper, we share methodology, procedures and our experiences at design and utilization of virtual models for dynamic systems developed in the MATLAB GUI environment.","PeriodicalId":212597,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115715652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whether they are solving an exercise or learning a whole new topic, they can concurrently browse other relevant objects in the educational system or even resources outside the system, on the “wild” Web. This behavior goes unnoticed or it is only estimated in the traditional web usage mining, where it is supposed that the user opens only one page at a time. However, if we could record the parallel browsing behavior, we could better understand the user's activity, goals and improve learner model employed for personalization. The paths through resources (including spawning new tabs and switching between them) of many learners also express relevance between these resources and this can be leveraged in applications such as recommendation to other learners browsing similar learning objects. In this paper, we introduce a model for parallel browsing behavior based on events tracked with client-side scripting. We realized the proposed model in the ALEF educational system, which we use in several courses and evaluate learner behavior in the system.","PeriodicalId":212597,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116574234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
