However, some of the method could not satisfy users' needs for getting a tough and better handling tool. The purpose of this article is to make clear the contents of users' needs and communicate them to makers and developers for their information. 82 subjects(mostly social psychologists)were asked by questionnaire method what kinds of dissatisfaction they experienced in using multivariate analyses. The questionnaire considered the10methods: factor analysis, principal component analysis, canonical correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, analysis of covariance, discriminant analysis, cluster analysis, theory of quantification, LISREL, and MDS. Users reported wanting methods which are:(1)less mathematically sophisticated than tough and stable, (2)able to analyze a formation and change of interacting processes, (3)not restricted by excessive mathematical assumptions, (4)supported by systems which easily select the best method out of a complex program package. The users also wanted to know(5)the limitations of each application rather than the usefulness of the method, and(6)criteria for selecting the most suitable method for the data.","PeriodicalId":211147,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese Journal of Behaviormetrics","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134128507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The useful tool for exploration of the factors is tree structured method. In this paper, we proposed a multi-split tree structured method. Then, we can present the complicated interactions of those influencing factors on prognosis using graphical display. Then, we evaluated performance of the multi-split tree structured method by using certain literature examples and conducting simulation. As a result, the multi-split tree had the small number of terminal nodes rather than ordinary binary-split tree. When true tree structure had many (rather than two) branches, total mean squared error of estimated hazard of the multi-split tree structured method was less than one of the binary-split tree structured method. That is, the performance of the former was superior to one of the latter. Moreover, we can use the multi-split tree structured method in order to diagnose the result of the binary-split tree structured method.","PeriodicalId":211147,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese Journal of Behaviormetrics","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131006794","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most important methods for risk controlling is the evaluation of rating for each company, and now a generalized linear regression model such as the ordered logit model has been widely used in the preceding studies of the rating forecasting model. In statistical modeling, the multi-nominal logit model as well as many other models have been developed from the multi-nominal logit model and are expected to decrease the I.I.A. (Independence from Irrelevant Alternatives) assumption. However, these models have not usually been used in the study of rating forecasting model so far. In this study, we will construct a rating forecasting model based on the normal ordered logit model, multi-nominal logit model and nested logit model, and compare the model performance among these models. Finally, we will confirm the validity of these models by applying them to actual publicly disclosed rating data.","PeriodicalId":211147,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese Journal of Behaviormetrics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131162920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interpretation of the results obtained from INDSCAL has not always emphasized the way to visualize the solutions. To interpret the results more efficiently, this study proposes an approach that uses both low- and high-dimensional solutions of INDSCAL. Department store purchase data were analyzed using INDSCAL. This analysis examined the influences of store arrangement and season effects on multiple purchase behaviors. The results showed that consumers' multiple purchase behaviors are based on an image of the shop, the life stage of the consumers, and the layout of the department store. The store arrangement influences long-term purchase behaviors, which differ from period to period.","PeriodicalId":211147,"journal":{"name":"The Japanese Journal of Behaviormetrics","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128886267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
