However, their distribution is limited due to the low stability of the achieved quality indicators (limited porosity, the required proportion of the reinforcing component, geometry accuracy), which requires a large number of experimental tests of the process, as well as the use of very complex and laborious computer modeling methods to obtain information on a rational strategy (number and location of gates and runners for resin injection and vacuum vents) and process conditions (temperature, pressure, time). The presented work proposes a technology for computer modeling of the process, based on the formulation and the finite elements implementation of a coupled problem, including the Cahn-Hilliard, Richards, thermal kinetics-convection-diffusion and heat transfer equations to describe evolution of the porous perform filling by the resin taking into account its cure with a preliminary assessment of the process quality sub-objectives before the start of the post-filling stage, when the thermosetting resin begins to solidify. After analyzing a large group of process variants, the time instant for performing such a forecast and the composition of sub-objectives were determined, the values of which allow obtaining with sufficient accuracy valid estimates of the resin filling, fiber volume fraction of the preform, the spatial distribution and the average value of porosity in the molded part just before the transition of the resin from a liquid to a gelatinous state. A significant reduction in the computation time for the simulation, achieved through the use of preliminary estimates of partial quality criteria, ensures the effective use of the developed product in optimization systems to minimize the unfilled preform volume during vacuum infusion processes before the resin solidification.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124806003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to investigate the electrical conductivity and tensile strength of hybrid graphite composites (epoxy/G150/G75 composites) for engineering applications. The larger conductive filler (150 µm) was used as the main conductive filler, while the smaller one (75 µm) was used as the secondary conductive filler in several different compositions. The casting process was used to produce hybrid graphite composites based on predetermined parameters. The results showed that the highest electrical conductivity and tensile strength were obtained in hybrid graphite composites at a composition of 80 wt. % (70 wt. %G150 and 10 wt. % G75), namely 25.5 S/cm and 4.5 N/mm2. The increase of secondary conductive filler content and curing temperature were significantly increased the electrical conductivity and tensile strength of the resulting hybrid graphite composites.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124871476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The literature suggest that static authentication alone may not be sufficient in validating user identity. In the context of the distance learning environment, it is often challenging to demonstrate that the integrity of user sessions has not been compromised. In this paper, the researchers experimented and demonstrated the use of Behavioral Biometrics to; continuously authenticate students in a Distance Learning Environment. The key features/dataset used in this experiment originates from two (2) primary physical input devices (Keyboard and Mouse). This dataset aided in the development of a user biometric profile that would, in turn, authenticate a user based on statistical matching, utilizing a combination of algorithms. The results garnered from the study revealed evidence that suggested that the application of behavioural biometrics seems promising in enhancing user authentication as a mean of identifying genuine and imposter users on the distance learning platform thus meeting the regulatory requirement as established by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ).","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116591057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mathematical model of Traffic Engineering Fault-Tolerant routing has been investigated in this study to support the default gateway redundancy strategies and network load balancing by analogy with the First Hop Redundancy Protocols mechanisms. The model covers various options for load balancing in the core and at the access level of the network. The findings of the research demonstrated the efficiency of the suggested model. Finally, reducing the upper bound of the network links utilization contributes to improving the critical Quality of Service parameters such as performance, jitter, packet loss, and average end-to-end delay.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128264285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These are: PV/T with batteries, and PV/T with pumped storage. Mathematical models of different scenarios were formulated and solved using MATLAB/SIMULINK and results obtained. The effects of brackish water temperature on the RO pressure and specific energy consumption were assessed and economic analysis conducted. The results show that the minimum LCOE and LCOW for PV/T with pumped storage in comparison with PV/T with batteries are 0.19 $/kWh and 1.55 $/m3 respectively, while the LCOE and LCOW for PV/T with batteries are 0.41 $/kWh and 2.28 $/m3, respectively. Also, the LCOS of pumped storage is 0.161 $/kWh while for the batteries is 0.524 $/kWh. Thus, these results show that PV/T with pumped storage system is more economical as compared to PV/T with batteries system. For RO system, the increase in water temperature results in a decrease in inlet pressure and the specific energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124600032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Knowing the needs ensures the success of the project. CAMI Level 2, therefore, helps organizations improve processes of software by providing them with important special practices to improve their software. Level 2 (in other words, SP 1.1 “understand requirements”). This practice helps developers to understand the problem and the needs of the domain in full. In this paper, we have visited three companies and conducted three detailed interviews. We have also developed a model of SP 1.1 by taking advantage of the different opinions and experiences of practices on the implementation of SP 1.1. This model comprises four key stages: preparation, analysis, validation, and updating. It will provide practitioners with key advice on how to implement SP 1.1 effectively.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126710266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also overcomes the Quality of Service (QoS) and latency issues that come naturally from the best-effort behaviour of the Cloud. Although reduced dependency to the Internet enables the application of the EC to the realtime applications, without a standard architecture, EC benefits cannot be incorporated. To this end, in our previous papers, we proposed a novel software reference architecture (SRA) for Edge Servers. The SRA allows receiving Edge Computing benefits without worrying about setup or configuration, but only focusing on software development. Regardless of the computing power of the Edge Servers, the architecture enables a decentralised (real-time) task execution at the edge. Once a task request arrives, the receiving server determines whether to execute the task on itself or offload it to any of the neighbouring servers, by considering several parameters, such as latency, and available resources. In this paper, we explain how servers decide where to execute the task, without requiring a centralized load balancer. Moreover, we show how they share their resources between each other to create a common knowledge of their neighbouring servers.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126348743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to literature, it is evident that oral communication, feedback, and presentation skills are the most crucial among all. SE curriculums need to be structured to prepare its undergraduates to meet these demands. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, most universities opted for online education. Therefore, communication skill development inevitably needed to be conducted remotely. Current mechanisms used in these remote sessions do not cater to unique needs of SE industry. This paper proposes a design of a plugin to be used with Zoom to analyze and improve student's communication skills real time. The proposed design is inclusive of two phases. In phase one, variables which determine communication skills are identified. In relation to these variables, student communication data will be collected for a period of a semester. The data collection will occur via Zoom sessions, for a selected project-based learning (PBL) module. In phase two, a machine learning model will be created using the gathered data in phase 1, and the plugin will be implemented. The plugin will categorize the students' communication skills into 3 categories such as “weak”, “average” and “good”. The proposed plugin generates a comprehensive report on student's communication skills which could be downloaded at the end of each session. The expected accuracy rate of the plugin is 80%.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125981494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inaccurate calculation or assumption of the system modal parameters may cause instability and/or bias control performance. This work presents the mathematical modeling, simulation, and experimental study to estimate the mechanical parameters of a two-mass-model system in DC motor drives using Artificial Swarm Intelligence. The electrical parameters such as resistance and inductance are usually provided by the DC motor manufacturer. However, the mechanical parameters such as the moment of inertia, and viscous friction will vary when the motor is connected to a mechanical load for a given application. Computer modeling and parameter estimation of the system were carried out using MATLAB/Simulink software. The parameters estimation of the mechanical side of a DC Motor drive system will be converted into an optimization problem using an objective function. The standard PSO algorithm is compared to the proposed modified PSO algorithms in the literature.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121463904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Proposed topology is a combination of grid power and PV units' power merged together so that renewable energy sources are utilized. In conventional chargers, usually large switching devices are used in which switch mode technique is used or transformers are used to first step down voltage and then rectify it. Each switching device adds its noise & losses in system. Cost of production increases due to these switching devices. Vienna rectifier is one of the best in this field consists of limited number of switching devices. Vienna produces bi polar output voltage which can serve two electrical loads at a time. A PV units have been merged with Vienna rectifier in order to design composite system. To get maximum power from PV, an algorithm of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) has been used. A Vienna converter converts this combines power according to the vehicle demand. The fuzzy logic based solution enables fast charging for (PEVs) concentrating into a central grid tied converter. Simulations are validate the charging station architecture and performance. Simulation results show that output power is stable and provide fast charging with minimum THD of less than 1 %.","PeriodicalId":207913,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121738975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
