Therefore, the method of upbringing affects them greatly, and for this reason there is a close connection between the personality of parents and the personalities and behaviors of children. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between parental possessiveness and academic achievement among stage students at Ajloun Governorate, Jordan. Method: The study utilized a questionnaire to collect data on parental possessiveness, academic achievement, and other factors influencing academic achievement. Results: This study found that daily involvement in academic activities has the most significant impact on academic outcomes, followed by communication with teachers, monitoring academic progress, and daily checking of schoolwork. Parental knowledge of their child's academic performance also had a significant impact on academic outcomes, with higher regression coefficients observed for Arabic, science, and social studies compared to math. Other factors influencing academic achievement, such as frequency of studying outside of school, participation in extracurricular activities, TV or electronic device usage during study time, motivation to learn, and stress or anxiety about schoolwork, also had an impact on academic achievement, with some behaviors being detrimental to academic performance. Conclusion: This study's findings highlight the importance of parental involvement, knowledge, and support in their child's academic success across different subjects.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140522654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intravenous therapies are the common cause of pain in hospitalized child. Pain is one of the most overlooked, misdiagnosed, and undertreated diseases, especially in infants. One of the most challenging responsibilities for medical staff caring for infants is to properly assess and manage their discomfort. Infants may feel severe pain when receiving an intravenous therapy. Atraumatic care is a sort of restorative treatment that does not create distress to the infant, while providing care in the emergency department focuses on minimizing stress or maximizing the growing of infant. Atraumatic care is provided by behavior such as implementing diversional treatment, which may lessen the physical and psychological effects of pain in infants while they are hospitalized. Non-pharmacological comforting measures when implemented are important to relieve pain related distress in children during intravenous therapies. Aim: This literature review aimed to check the effectiveness of non- pharmacological measures to reduce intravenous procedural related pain and avoid potential drugs side effects.Method: An extensive search and numerous evaluation of the peer-reviewed literature was conducted for narrative review. Journal article were retrieved from three database (PubMed, Medline, Embase & Research gate) using the search terms ‘intravenous therapies’ ‘infants’ and ‘non-pharmacological pain management measures’ Result: The search yielded ten studies of India related to non-pharmacological measures to reduce pain during intravenous therapies among infants. Subsequent review identified emergent themes of non-pharmacological pain management measures for intravenous therapies.Conclusion: There is a lack of quality evidence regarding the practice of non-pharmacological pain management measure during intravenous therapies for infants. To date, in this area has been limited. Further research is therefore recommended.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135806107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The samples from the selected rural areas of Vijayapura were selected using purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 60 parents of children between 6-14 years of age. The tools used for data collection was structured knowledge questionnaire. Results: The pre-test knowledge score among majority of parents of school age children was inadequate and post-test knowledge score was found to be adequate. There was significant enhancement in knowledge of parents of school age after administration of structured teaching program regarding impact of child labor. There was significant association between knowledge scores and education status of parents (12.07*) at0.05% level. Conclusion: There is a need for the awareness program on child labore among the general population to prevent child labore and its consequences on physical and psychological health among the children.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135807314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
