In fact child is a citizen of the world and thus it becomes the responsibility of the wide population of the whole universe to look after the interests of the children all over. The young children need love for growth but also adequate nutrition and health facilities, so that he can grow at his optimum level. The concept of the importance of a child to society greatly emerged as each group settled in an area of fertile land. Instead of being a liability, the children slowly became an asset to the family and to the society. Children between 6-12 years of age are generally called primary school children. Today more than ever before the primary school children have become a focus for organized medical-social welfare activities. So their healthy growth is essential. One of the common methods to identify nutritional status in children is anthropometric measurements. Primary school children represent about 1/5 th of the general population in India, and majority of the population lives in rural areas. Therefore it is apparent to study the growth of children in both areas. This study was undertaken to assess the nutritional status by measuring the selected anthropometric measurements of urban and rural primary school children in selected primary schools of Gokak, Belgaum district.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130556558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Easily transmitted between people, respiratory pathogens are a leading cause of widespread illness but can be prevented. With the use of standard precautions, appropriate respiratory and hand hygiene, and appropriate patient precautions at the onset of symptoms, respiratory infections can be managed and maintained. Hygiene is a series of practices performed to preserve health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO). A respiratory infection is spread when a person who is infected with a virus coughs or sneezes. The droplets released from an ill person’s cough or sneeze can travel for several feet reaching the nose or mouth of others and causing illness. The control of spread of pathogens from the source is key to avoid transmission. Among source control measures, respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette, developed during the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak, is now considered as part of standard precautions.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121426713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This occupational health is an important factors for sustainable socio-economic development that enables workers to enjoy a healthy and productive life both throughout their active working years and beyond, especially after their retirement. The present study aims to assess the effectiveness of video assisting program on respiratory tract infection and its prevention among weavers. A quasi experimental research design was conducted among 60 weavers. The demographic data was collected using structured interview questionnaire. The pre-test knowledge was assessed using the structured questionnaire. The samples were given video assisted teaching on respiratory infection and its management and then after 2 days, the post test was done. The study results show that the level of knowledge considerably increased in the post test at p<0.005. This indicates video assisted teaching is cost effective and can be easily understood by the weavers to gain knowledge. The result of the study is it was concluded that video assisted teaching is the effective and easy method to improve knowledge among weavers. The knowledge on prevention helps to reduce the morbidity rate of respiratory infection among weavers.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126027234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
