In such situations, quality of service is interpreted in many ways (jitters, response times, etc.). In other real-time environments the objective is to optimize a performance measure while respecting release times and deadlines; other environments permit modifications of release times, but not of the deadline times, in a controlled manner. This paper focus on additional issues related on precedence constrains and variable execution times that could be considered during scheduling. In this idea, the paper presents a way of possible integration of such issues into a tool used for modelling and simulation of real-time systems behaviour.","PeriodicalId":205589,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-09-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127711393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose a non-invasive method of abnormal area detection based on microwaves emission detection, in order to uncover the incipient malignant processes. Underlying the actual situation, statistics and methods, our paper comments the necessary stages implemented in order to distinguish and compare the body normal and abnormal microwave radiations. In the same time, we highlight some problems, punctually submitting a fuzzy solution. This paper presents the starting point and some important, necessary steps in our research, which we are further continuing.","PeriodicalId":205589,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-09-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134254007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focus our attention on finding an optimal compromise solution when it corresponds to maximize a Choquet integral over the elements on the product set. We propose a fast procedure for the exact determination of this optimal compromise solution. This procedure relies on a ranking algorithm that enumerates top-k-solutions of a GAI-Network until a stop condition is met. Finally, we provide results of numerical experiments that indicate the practical efficiency of our procedure.","PeriodicalId":205589,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-09-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128823920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Computerized tomography is one of the imaging equipments of diagnosis which has most benefited from technological improvements. Because of that, and due to the quality of the diagnosis produced, it is one of the most employed equipments in clinical applications. The ischaemic cerebral vascular accident (ICVA) is the pathology that confirms the frequent use of the computerized tomography. The interest for this pathology, and in general for the encephalon image analysis as a preventive diagnosis, is mainly due to the frequent occurrence of ICV As in development countries and its social-economic impact. In this sense, we propose to evaluate the ability of artificial neural networks (ANN) for automatic identification of ICVA by means of tissue density images obtained by computerised tomography. This work employed cranioencephalon computerised tomography exams and their respective medical reports, to train ANNs classifiers. Features extracted from the images were used as inputs to the classifiers. Once the ANNs were trained, the neural classifiers were tested with data never seen by the network. At this stage we may conclude that the ANNs may significantly contribute as an ICV As computerised tomography diagnostic aid, since among the test cases the automatic identification of ischaemic lesions has been performed with no false negatives e very few false positives.","PeriodicalId":205589,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-09-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133521589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the horizon of frequent pattern mining is expanded by extending single-level algorithms for mining multi-level frequent patterns. There are presented two algorithms that extract multi-level frequent patterns from databases using two efficient data structures: FP-tree and AFOP-tree, to represent the conditional databases. A comparison study is made between using these data structures and algorithms and Apriori algorithm to reflect their benefits. The compared algorithms are presented together with some experimental data that leads to the final conclusions.","PeriodicalId":205589,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-09-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122801401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover spam has evolved into a true security issue that enforces organizations to fight back in order to address security measures confidentiality, integrity and availability. To this end, we have proposed a dynamic model to classify incoming messages into five granules namely, spam, suspicious-spam, suspicious, suspicious-non-spam and non-spam, using interval type-2 fuzzy set methodologies augmented with the concept of general intervals. Despite the intrinsic complexities of higher order fuzzy sets, the error ratio of misclassification of the proposed method is noticeable. However it should be stressed that no single method can achieve one hundred percent precision, the proposed model should be used in conjunction with other complementing technologies.","PeriodicalId":205589,"journal":{"name":"2007 2nd International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-09-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125310401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In these applications, but also in the case that the forms aren't anymore plans, the contour of the forms is an important descriptor from which we can leave in the process of similarity finding between the objects represented by the respective forms in the digital images.
