Education gives individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed and contribute to society. It is essential for personal growth, development, and economic and social progress. Education promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, crucial for innovation and progress. Besides, education is a vital component of human development and progress, and all individuals must have access to quality education regardless of their nationality or period in history. The importance of education is not an exception for Cambodia. Thus, this article reviews the aspects of education in the history of Cambodia before the Angkor period using different documents for consolations. As a result, some fascinating findings proved that people during the prehistoric period learned by watching and doing, and people mostly learned from religions during the Nokor Phnom and Chela periods of Cambodia. The article then concludes the mentioned aspects in a few sentences and the important recommendations.","PeriodicalId":201363,"journal":{"name":"Journal of General Education and Humanities","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116820461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on entrepreneurship education philosophy, this study examines how learning and intention affect secondary students' entrepreneurial goals, especially those of Malvar School of Arts and Trade students in Grade 10. This tackles the scarcity of research on the role of self-efficacy as a mediator between entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurship education. The descriptive correlational method of research was utilized in this study. The primary tool for collecting data was the questionnaire created by the researcher. Respondents were 198 Grade 10 students at Malvar School of Arts and Trade. The respondents believed entrepreneurship education and self-efficacy strengthened their intention to become entrepreneurs. They also believed that entrepreneurship education increases their understanding of starting their enterprise. Between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention, self-efficacy plays a crucial role, enabling students to anticipate when they will start a new firm.","PeriodicalId":201363,"journal":{"name":"Journal of General Education and Humanities","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127466606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aimed to know how self-confidence works in students speaking to ninth-grade students, specifically at SMP Negeri 9 Palu, and the factors that contributed to their lack of confidence. For the topic, 30 students were selected as the sample and given twelve questions from the questionnaire and five interview questions. The research method was a descriptive qualitative method. The results that the researcher has done are self - confidence indeed works on students’ speaking. Students’ lack of confidence is caused by some factors, which are afraid of making mistakes when they speak, they still have lack of vocabulary, lack of grammar, feel of under pressure every time the teacher asks them to speak, shyness, nervous, feel of uncomfortable, not enjoying when they attempt to speak, insecurities of their friends who have the good ability more than them. This study is expected to contribute to developing students’ speaking ability and solve students’ problems by knowing their speaking and what factors contribute to their unconfident. Moreover, this study also may help teachers treat students so they can participate actively in class without being constrained with self–confidence.","PeriodicalId":201363,"journal":{"name":"Journal of General Education and Humanities","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121857792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

English is now a popular medium of instruction and a major subject in Cambodia because most higher education institutions (HEIs) have adopted it as a common language for a learning curriculum. However, teaching English effectively has also been a concern in Cambodia because learners are not proficient or fluent in English. Moreover, most English classes have been taught by fresh graduates with little English teaching experience, and some instructors even teach subjects not in their field. Therefore, this study surveyed 265 year-4 TEFL students at three universities by asking them to rate their instructors’ teaching effectiveness. Instructors’ qualifications, content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, pedagogical skills, and personal and interpersonal characteristics are used to examine students’ perceptions of effective TEFL instructors. The study showed higher percentages of students’ positive perceptions of the five domains of effective TEFL instructors. The findings are also consistent with the results of previous studies, suggesting that these qualities and characteristics should be must-have criteria for TEFL instructors in higher education. Thus, educational institutions should create certain criteria for selecting qualified university instructors. The findings can help the institutions develop human resources with these quality aspects or elements when selecting effective English language instructors. HEIs can use these criteria based on the results of this study, while TEFL instructors need to develop or improve themselves to have these qualities and other attributes for English teaching.","PeriodicalId":201363,"journal":{"name":"Journal of General Education and Humanities","volume":"164 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131887627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inclusive education policy is not an exception in this case. This study explores teachers’ beliefs about their capabilities to teach inclusive early childhood education (ECE)classes under the inclusive education policy. This study has conceptualized this belief as inclusive teaching efficacy. A Qualitative approach with a sample of 15 ECE teachers and two educational officers was interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. Data were analyzed using interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA). The major themes from the analysis reveal interesting insights into teachers' beliefs about their capabilities to handle inclusive ECE classes. Their capabilities were influenced by knowledge, exposure, training, and CPDs, among other emerging themes. This study demonstrates the need to prepare teachers for the implementation of policies or policy changes in Education. Most importantly, the study targets teachers’ self-beliefs, which feeds into their motivation and quality implementation of the inclusive education policy. It was recommended that inclusive ECE teachers be exposed to inclusive CPDs and that training institutions beef up curricula to equip teachers with adequate knowledge to manage inclusive ECE learners.","PeriodicalId":201363,"journal":{"name":"Journal of General Education and Humanities","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129411648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
