Hence, voltage modulation cannot be used directly on an LED for continuous modulation such as OFDM without signal distortion. Compared to voltage modulation with a predistortion circuit, current modulation is simpler to apply since the output light intensity of an LED is linearly proportional to the input current over a wide range. This paper considers BJT-based transconductance circuits used for current modulation in LED-based transmitters, and proposes the use of a feedback circuit topology to overcome the problem of high variation in the forward current gain parameter of BJTs. In particular, the current-series feedback topology is analyzed, yielding a circuit design that can be used for current modulation and is insensitive to the current gain variation.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132599746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The efficiency of each gas sensor was tested in a static gas measurement chamber with presence of volatiles. The gas sensors were observed to increase response with increasing concentration of ammonia and toluene. Polyvinyl pyrolidon (PVP)/SWCNT-COOH shows the highest sensor response to both ammonia and toluene. The E-nose drone has then been demonstrated under two situations, i.e., in a closed clean room with presence of ammonia evaporation, and in open air with low wind environment. It was found that the pattern of sensor data obtained from flying the E-nose drone under different situations can be clearly distinguished. It is hoped that the E-nose drone can be a very useful technology for military usage; such as to detect explosives, as well as for farmers; such as to map the malodor emission from their cattle farms or to search for ethylene for fruit ripeness detection, etc.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132713592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the experimental study on the lifting electric field of spherical particles under the different gas pressures in a uniform electric field between two parallel electrodes. The electrode gap was 10 mm. Three sizes of the spherical particles were used. We carried out the experiments in air under pressures of 1, 2 and 3 bar. The experimental results indicated that the particle liftoff depended on the voltage polarity, particle size and pressure. The lifting electric field under positive was higher than negative voltage for all conditions. However, the difference was clear only under 3 bar pressure or for the smallest particle radius (0.4 mm). The lifting electric field increased significantly with increasing size of particles and pressure. It is can be concluded that the effects of particle size and pressure are important for spherical particle liftoff.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"466 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115323154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes to compare the path loss in 850 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency bands by various path loss models. The path loss under terms of the transmitter height and the receiver height. The well known path loss model such as Walfisch-Ikegami (WI), SUI and Ericsson model used to simulate path loss by MATLAB. The results shown that when the longest distance WI model has the most path loss at the receiving antenna height is 1 and 5 meters. The path loss in the frequency bands 1800 MHz is greater than the path loss in the frequency bands 850 MHz under the same conditions. The path loss can be use to determine where to install the mobile base station with high quality. That means at the same distance if using the frequency band 1800 MHz for mobile network in the same technology will require to install the mobiles base station more than using frequency band 800 MHz.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115473028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve this problem, this paper proposes an iterative based time domain equalization (TDE) technique with a time domain channel impulse response (CIR) estimation method for the DFTS-OFDM signal. The salient features of proposed method are to employ a time domain training sequence (TS) in the estimation of CIR instead of using the conventional pilot subcarriers method and to employ the TDE technique with a maximum likelihood (ML) estimation method instead of using the conventional minimum mean square error frequency domain equalization (MMSE-FDE) method. This paper also proposes a low-complexity iterative method for the TDE method by using the preconditioned conjugate gradient squared (PCGS) algorithm for solving the simultaneous equations instead of using a direct calculation of inverse matrix. This paper presents various simulation results under highly mobile environments to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed iterative based TDE with the CIR estimation method for the DFTS-OFDM signal as comparing with the conventional MMSE-FDE method.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115780923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the SIMO topology, the proposed driver offers multiple negative outputs in order to reduce the number of required drivers in the multi-color lighting system. Furthermore, the proposed driver can achieve not only larger number of conversion ratios but also wider output range, because the proposed SIMO driver realizes negative conversion ratios of the Fibonacci sequence.
