The controller is designed based on the dynamic modeling of system begins with a derivation of suitable mathematical model to describe the longitudinal motion of an aircraft. Fuzzy logic is used to tune each parameter of Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller by selecting appropriate fuzzy rules through simulation in Matlab and Simulink. Comparative assessment based on time response specifications between conventional PID controller with self-tuning fuzzy PID for an autopilot of longitudinal dynamic in pitch aircraft is investigated and analyzed. Simulation results show that, the performance of a pitch control system has improved significantly using self-tuning fuzzy PID compared to conventional PID controller.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114832173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At this layer where the total electron content exist because of ionization by the Sun's extreme ultraviolet radiation, meanwhile the night side ionosphere electron content is reduced by chemical recombination. Maximum Total Electron Content (TEC) was detected at 0500 Local Time Clock (LTC) and will decrease gradually and reached its minimum at 2200 LTC. TEC during the day is higher than at night. The ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun ionizes fractions of the neutral atmosphere and forms the ionosphere. The elevation angle of satellite will also influence the TEC value. The higher elevation angle, the value of vertical TEC will also increase. The data from GPS Stations in RINEX format is supplied by Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM). The GA is developed to optimize the parameter setting for circuit design in order to achieve the required specifications in terms of noise figure, power gain, power loss, current, and circuit stability factors. Two case studies are presented in this paper: 15.12 GHz single pole double throw (SPDT) switch design and 5 GHz MMIC monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) design. The Agilent Advance Design System (ADS) is adopted to simulate the circuit performance of SPDT switch and MMIC LNA. The developed GA is compared to a number of built-in optimizer of ADS. Based on the results obtained, GA is shown to be capable in assisting circuit designs, solving the crucial circuit parameters for achieving the required specifications, preference and constraints.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127710873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new deployed base stations and power amplifier requirements are exerting pressure on the relative electrical grids as well as increasing the CO2 emissions substantially. It has been reported that more than one half of the network operating cost is in the form of electrical energy. Therefore, reducing cellular networks power consumption is becoming one of the hot topics of today's deployment of heterogeneous radio access networks. It makes sense from economical as well as environmental point of view. Among other factors, power consumption is impacted directly by the service requests and load delivered. In this paper, the required power consumption for each service as defined by the 3GPP standards is analyzed and simulation results will be presented for power consumption of different UMTS services. The results allow establishing the relationship between the power requirements and the traffic volume. Additionally, the relationship between power and cell size is analyzed.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129962259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The symptoms of the attacks are usually distinguished through the leaves, stems or fruit inspection. This paper discusses the effective way used in performing early detection of chili disease through leaf features inspection. Leaf image is captured and processed to determine the health status of each plant. Currently the chemicals are applied to the plants periodically without considering the requirement of each plant. This technique will ensure that the chemicals only applied when the plants are detected to be effected with the diseases. The image processing techniques are used to perform hundreds of chili disease images. The plant chili disease detection through leaf image and data processing techniques is very useful and inexpensive system especially for assisting farmers in monitoring the big plantation area.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130286469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High frequency group of brainwave signals (beta and alpha will be compared in term of correlation and brainwaves pattern after being exposed to the radio frequency. The brainwave signals of alpha and beta frequency bands were recorded using electroencephalograph (EEG) for three states which are before, during and after the exposure to the radio frequency. Then the results of captured brainwave signals were analyzed and compared with results from Sham Exposure (SE) group. It was found that the magnitude of both alpha and beta brainwave signals were reduced during and after exposure, with significant reduction on the side where the phone was located. This resulted in unbalanced brainwave signals, where the correlation value of left and right brainwave was reduced to 0.49 (beta) and 0.53 (alpha).","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134541372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These distance measurements are obtained via time delays of sending and receiving a pulse. As a result of especial geometry imaging, so many geometry distortions are made in morph and size of complications (with considerable topography). Overriding factors in these distortions are layover phenomenon, foreshortening and radar's shadow. These phenomenons are functions of incoming local angle which are also dependent on vision angle and local slope of the earth's surface. In this paper, distortions are modeled in MATLAB software. Thereafter results of this modeling show the distortions produced on radar's image.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115332103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The EEG signal was recorded for three states, which are before, during and after listening to Al-Quran and classical music. 28 healthy participants were randomly chosen among Universiti Teknologi MARA students with age range 20 to 28 years old. During this experiment, each sample was exposed to Surah Yasin of Al-Quran and Pachelbel's Canon D major of classical music. Interview sessions were carried out prior to the EEG signals acquisition. Results in terms of correlation between the left and the right brainwaves show that there are increment of 12.67% during listening to Al-Quran and the increment for classical music stands at 9.96%. This finding indicates that listening to the Al-Quran recitation increases the alpha band more than listening to the classical music. Consequently, listening to Al-Quran in particular can result in a more relaxing and alert condition compared to classical music.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"241 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114620929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Partnering is used to carry out this research so that we can ascertain the features and issues that contribute to trust within the partnering arrangements. There are many other procurement routes available in manufacturing industries which are having different qualities in them but we want to see whether partnering is more appropriate route as compared to other forms of procurement. To support our research, opinions of clients and contractors were gathered and an analysis was done according to their feedbacks. The collection of data and analysis provided primarily information proving the aim and objectives were identified in methodology. The main outcome of this methodology was how important trust is and whether trust can be achieved through partnering procurement. Also the advantages and the disadvantages of partnering were evaluated from the results. This research found from the analysis of data that partnering has a good and positive impact on trust which other procurement routes find difficult to prove. Long term relationship through partnering did not satisfy all the clients. Other procurement routes can offer the client a better quality options when it comes to risk allocation and price certainty. After all the study and research it was been proved that trust can be achieved through Partnering.","PeriodicalId":200002,"journal":{"name":"2012 Third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122025808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
