Since Ethereum pioneered smart contracts in the blockchain, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) can connect public nodes scattered throughout the network into a virtual machine to execute Turing-complete programs. The EVM can also run other applications such as decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), which is a new type of blcokchain-based organization that uses smart contracts to perform tasks on a distributed scale. The smart contracts have organizational rules and operational logic embedded and automatically execute organizational decisions and proposals making it highly decentralized and more democratic. The DAOs are organizations that are not subject to legal, physical, or economic constraints, as well as the ability to operate outside the control of a single central authority or a single governing body. Because DAO is formed by many smart contract that operate together, which makes it highly decentralized and has a strong democratic system. This paper discusses the pros and cons of DAO, and the potential of DAO in community development, especially in non-profit organizations. It is hope to provide an overall picture of DAO, and the roadmap for future development of DAO on the right track.","PeriodicalId":199727,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 9th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121822387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Visualization of features by way of merging, linking, and grouping of entity attributes is provided to criminal network investigators. It is difficult to understand such large amounts of statistical data. A number of solutions have been proposed to tackle this bulk of information. We have found that the prevailing challenges to information visualization can be eliminated to a large extent by detecting evolving network patterns which are extracted by way of visual analysis of criminal activity based on temporal data, by examining some dynamics of criminal networks, and by making use of some novel interactive features. The current study will help to understand interesting patterns in criminal data by way of visualization. Besides our previously proposed network visualization features, we have appended five new features. These features include ‘Pie-chart feature’ which has been proposed for better ‘details on demand’ facility to the analysts. A ‘Trend analysis feature’ is proposed for visualizing the variation in different crimes over some span of time. The ‘Graphical Trend Analysis feature’ provides a graphical interface to the analysts. There is a unique ‘Encircle feature’, with the aid of which the desired clusters can be dragged away from the dense network for easy manipulation. With ‘Similar node feature’, the analysts may get summarized information regarding the activity of different nodes which are at distant apart. We have made an evaluation of our proposed visualization features by conducting an experiment. Thirty-two participants evaluated the system. The experiment was performed in two phases. In the first phase, a usability evaluation and qualitative feedback was carried out to check whether the features provided adequate results to the users. In the second phase, the comparison of the features had been performed against some other state-of-the-art tool. These tasks were to be performed in the groups of participants. The public data set of Chicago Narcotics was used. We found that the participants, of the PEVNET group, performed the tasks faster as compared to the other techniques used in the experiment. We have demonstrated the usability of the new features with examples by employing the datasets. We have proposed a unique way of visualizing the clustering of data, with which the analyst gets a sound visualization of the data. The usability, of the proposed features, indicates that the crime analysts will get a valuable insight into the criminal networks.","PeriodicalId":199727,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 9th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125422242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Car-sharing and bike-sharing require efficient allocation of vehicle resources to sharing stations. Scholars have used temporal or spatial information to predict the number of users at each station. However, external factors, such as special events or rain, can affect this number. This paper proposes a framework to improve the prediction of shared-transport users based on both temporal and spatial factors as well as the external factors of the surrounding environment of the station, the weather, and relevant online activity. The proposed approach was verified through the application to the real-world case of bicycle-sharing in Taipei, Taiwan.","PeriodicalId":199727,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 9th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123929303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We conducted an online experiment on Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) and analyzed the data using ANOVA. The results indicate that the inaction inertia effect occurs for the same shopping platform. There is no significant difference in the inaction inertia effect between two promotional opportunities from the same seller or different sellers on the same shopping platform. In addition, online consumers feel regret after missing out on better promotional opportunities. We make discussions and provide implications according to the analytical results.","PeriodicalId":199727,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 9th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124598458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results of two-stage least squares (2SLS) estimations, which use survey data collected in Lao PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam in 2017, support these hypotheses. The findings suggest that (1) benefits from ICTs can be diffused along production networks even if firms reactively adopt ICTs and (2) policies for promoting ICT adoption, in tandem with quality management will improve the operation of entire production networks.","PeriodicalId":199727,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 9th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117077260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since Facebook announced the development of the Metaverse, its related applications and services have instantly become hot issues. Although it may take a few years for the Metaverse to become popular as a social platform today, its impact on future community development will be significant. On the other hand, since Ethereum pioneered smart contracts in the blockchain, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) can connect public nodes scattered throughout the network into a virtual machine to execute Turing-complete programs, and the issue of decentralization has gradually spread. Today, as the application of smart contracts becomes more and more extensive and innovative, such as the decentralized architecture and applications of NFT, DeFi, GameFi, DApp, DAO, DEX, its influence has gradually expanded from the virtual world to physical applications, and also has impacts on real financial applications. The recent burst of NFT and DeFi addressed this issue. There are some gaps between reality and hype, and it is a lesson just like e-commerce burst some 20 years ago. A well format regulation and supervision seem required. However, the challenge for financial supervision today is the decentralized application and anonymity. This paper discusses the innovations in communities that related to decentralized financial services in the blockchain. And the blockchain financial supervision issues that within the tolerable range of risk and impact to both virtual and real world.","PeriodicalId":199727,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 9th Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127831804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
