Qurultay (representatives’ body) and Mejlis (executive body) were recreated to represent the Tatar people. The Mejlis adopted acts that did not have necessarily binding legal force, however, it was recognized and integrated into the Ukrainian legal system in 1999 through a presidential order. Policy recommendations of Mejlis were considered noteworthy in decisions made by Ukrainian authorities regarding issues of the Crimean Tatars particularly and Crimea in general. \u0000The focus of the paper is to study the transformation of Ukrainian supremacy in Crimea and the status of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar in pre- and post-2014. It is based on historical data on Crimean Tatars and analyses the legal acts and policies adopted by the highest authorities of Ukraine related to the subjects of the Mejlis. During the political events of ‘Euromaidan’ that took place in Ukraine in 2013-14 and the Russian annexation of Crimea through a referendum in 2014, the topic of the autonomy of the Crimean Tatars became a relevant issue of human rights and placed as a priority area in the agenda of the Ukrainian government. This research also serves as a case study of the minority group of displaced people who need someplace to stay and settle.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"20 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139456855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the UK, the concept of the rule of law is central to the functioning of the legal system, and the principle of parliamentary sovereignty is considered to be a fundamental aspect of the constitution. However, the concept of the royal prerogative, which is the set of powers and privileges that historically belonged to the monarch, still exists. These powers include the right to appoint and dismiss ministers, to issue pardons, to grant honours and titles, to declare war, and to sign treaties. Although many of these powers have been transferred to the Parliament, some remain with the monarch and their use is subject to limited judicial review. While the concepts of the royal prerogative and parliamentary supremacy remain important aspects of the UK's constitutional framework, they must be balanced against the principle of the rule of law. The use of executive power must be subject to legal scrutiny, and Parliament must continue to act as a check on the government's actions to ensure that they are consistent with the rule of law.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"89 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139454454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 1947, after the Independence of Pakistan, Poland helped Pakistan establish its air force and space program. Its officers participated in Indo-Pakistan war of 1965. The trade relations between the countries flourished during this era but our relations reached a new height when Poland became a democratic republic in 1989, joined NATO in 1999, and became a member of the European Union in 2004. Polish support for Pakistan to get GSP Plus status in the EU and President Musharraf's first-ever visit as a head of state propelled their bilateral trade to €500 million in 2018. Both countries have the potential to increase trade in the fields of oil & gas, maritime, energy, technology, infrastructure and tourism, but both should increase regional connectivity. The strategic location of both countries can provide them with a unique opportunity to increase regional connectivity. However, initially, both have to ensure the availability of direct air connectivity, people-to-people contacts, accessibility of easy visas, and smooth immigration policies. The future of their bilateral relations depends upon how both countries will find the solution to the prevailing issues and what actions will both take to facilitate greater trade and connectivity.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134401885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It focuses on the main three camps including Quetta Camp, the Country Club Camp in Karachi and the Malir Camp. The Polish refugees who left the USSR during the second world war were called by many an “inhuman land”. Nearly 325,000 Poles migrated at the beginning and went to different parts of the world. \u0000The very first Polish refugee camp was established in Iran but due to overpopulation, and because of the country’s political situation, it had to relocate them to other areas. However, a factor that has attracted little consideration in the analysis of the relations between these two countries is the role that the aforementioned countries cover within the project promoted by the People's Republic of China namely, the Belt and Road Initiative. The two countries play different roles in very distant sectors, nevertheless, they can be considered key players at a macro-continental level due to the geographical and political position they play in their region. These factors of influence and prestige could raise with the increase in international relations of a commercial and human nature that would occur following the construction of a large Eurasian infrastructural network. This article intends to investigate this perspective. It leads to another question, the answer to which must be investigated in the context of the hypothetical future: is it possible that the Belt and Road Initiative also increase the existing relationships between these two countries? And – would trade between Poland and Pakistan be distorted to the advantage of other neighbouring countries or would it increase in volume?","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122770593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the one hand, due to its position between two strategically relevant, such as Germany and Russia, and the absence of any actual natural barriers to keep hegemons at bay, Poland has had one of the most turbulent histories. It was remained at the mercy of its larger neighbours. On the other hand, due to its location, natural riches, and geopolitical position, Pakistan is now at a crossroads of promises and challenges, geopolitical ambitions of the powerful nations and the burgeoning commercial possibilities in Asia. The internal and external states of the region are leaning more towards their competing strategic options rather than attaining their geopolitical aims through collaboration. These strategic calculations are generating disturbance on the strategic front for the whole region in general, and for Pakistan in particular. The article is a comprehensive analysis of the geostrategic challenges that the two countries are now facing and will deal on aspect of their shared existence.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133144155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can further be divided into single national parliament (Unicameral) and a system consisting of two houses (Bicameral). Having diverse systems of governance, every state is working to keep peace and stability and create a progressive society that can ultimately attain a better world to live in. Pakistan got its independence in 1947 and adopted the Westminster system of governance which Britain had attained after a process of centuries since the signing of Magna Carta on June 15, 1215. Pakistan has been in struggle since its inception for a viable system of governance starting from a constitution borrowed from the Government of India Act 1935 to its own constitution approved in 1973. It shifted from a unicameral system of government to a bicameral federal state system but still a lot more is required to attain a democratic form of government that can respond to the local challenges. Keeping the bicameral system of Britain in view, the present study is planned to compare it with that of Pakistan to create a better understanding of parliamentary system of both states.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115039296","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He defended Marxism against world capitalism in the post-Cold War “New World Order” after the fall of Communism in 1989. He made a great contribution to the development of Marxist discourse from a deconstructive perspective. Therefore, the research paper focuses on the question, how did Derrida come under the influence of Marxism in his later career? It is mostly concerned with the critical responses of Derrida’s contemporary Marxist critics to Derridean deconstruction in general and to the publication of the book cited-above in particular as well as Derrida’s responses to them. In this way, the study attempts to explore the ways in which Marxism and deconstruction encounters and influences each other. Though it mainly concentrates on Derrida’s text on Marx, his other works also come under discussion. Althusserian Marxist hermeneutics has been employed as the theoretical and analytical framework in this textual study.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131941987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It meant to support social mobilization, humanitarian and community-based projects that are in line with the EU-Pakistan Engagement Plan 2019. This article also concerns itself with the climate change issues in Pakistan with focus on rising events of catastrophic floods which gain attention of international community to assist the people stranded in disarray. The situation raised a dire need of awareness campaigns to relate self-reliance activities to manage climate related disaster managements. It explores the EU’s environmental policies and practices made towards the sustainable development goals (SDGs). It further analyzes through the lens of the EU’s successive projects and policies to adapt and mitigate the climate change crisis in Europe and its assistance programmes to other countries like Pakistan. It highlights the responses of international community towards Pakistan, after the country was hit by unprecedented heavy monsoon rains.","PeriodicalId":199460,"journal":{"name":"Journal of European Studies (JES)","volume":"399 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132981635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
