Meanwhile, low adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) contributes significantly to the disease progression and emergence of drug-resistant HIV.\u0000Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between the adherence of HIV/AIDS patients to clinical outcomes in Semarang.\u0000Method: This was an observational and cross-sectional approach. The instrument used the Simple Medication Adherence Questionnaire (SMAQ), which was validated and distributed to 50 respondents. The data were analyzed using chi-square (p < 0.05), and the results showed a statistically significant relationship.\u0000Result: Respondents were male (96%), aged 26-45 years (76%), high school graduates (24%), working (88%), single (86%), without comorbidity (86%), length of treatment more than 12 months (80%), and general treatment (50%). A total of 31 respondents (62%) adhered to treatment with the combination regimen of Tenofovir/Lamivudine/Efavirenz (20%). There was a significant relationship (p = 0.006) between the length of treatment and patient adherence. The adherence results were not significantly related (p > 0.05) to virological outcomes.\u0000Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between the adherence of HIV/AIDS patients and clinical outcomes.

Appropriate management, including the identification of drug-related problems (DRPs), is needed to prevent disability and death. \u0000Objective: This study aimed to analyse DRPs as defined by the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE). \u0000Method: This was a cross-sectional research using the medical records of in-patients with ischemic stroke aged >18 years. \u0000Result: Out of the 115 patients examined, 51.3% were male, and the mean age was 57.85 + 10.539 years. Exactly 204 cases of DRPs and 175 causes appeared in 101 patients. A total of 58 patients experienced one-to-two problems, and 43 patients experienced more than two problems. The problems domain consists of therapeutic effectiveness (P1, 133(65.2%)), adverse effects (P2, 67(32, 84%)), and medical expenses (P3, 4(1, 96%)). The DRPs mostly involved antihypertension and antiplatelet. The most common cause was a new indication for treatment (C1.9, 51(29.14%)) and drug interactions (C8.1, 48(27.43%)). Multivariate analysis of patient characteristics showed that patients taking more than eight medications were more likely to experience more than two DRPs than those on one-to-four medications (OR 5.593; 95%, CI 1.015-30.812). \u0000Conclusion: Most patients experienced one-to-two DRPs with the highest being a potentially suboptimal treatment. Therefore, the development of agents that function as nephroprotectors continues to be researched.\u0000Objective: This study aims to obtain a nephrotoxic experimental animal model for testing nephroprotective agents.\u0000Method: The treatment was normal group, groups given a single dose of Cisplatin 7 mg/kgBW i.p (Cis), Doxorubicin single dose 25 mg/kgBW i.p (Dox-25), Doxorubicin repeated dose 4 mg/kgBW i.p twice/week for two weeks (Dox-4 repeated dose), and Gentamicin single dose 112 mg/kgBW i.p (Gen). The nephrotoxic effect was assessed by the parameters of kidney weight ratio, Ureum, Creatinine and Albumin levels in rat serum.\u0000Result: The nephrotoxic effect was indicated by an increase in the renal weight ratio of the Cisplatin; Dox-25, Dox-4 repeated, and Gen groups than normal, respectively. There was an increase in serum BUN levels, an increase in serum creatinine, and a decrease in serum albumin levels compared to the normal group.\u0000Conclusion: Cisplatin, Doxorubicin and Gentamicin have nephrotoxic effects. The administration of a single dose of cisplatin at 7 mg/kg BW gave the strongest nephrotoxic effect, making it appropriate as a model of acute nephrotoxicity in rats.
