It resolves the contradiction between wide bandwidth and high speed real-time processing by using the combined complex FFT algorithm. Block-RAMs(BRAMs) in FPGA are saved by parallel processing and module multiplexing, while the computation time also decreases significantly due to symmetry properties of intermediate variables in data processing. Observations at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory for pulsars with the developed spectrometer show that the system works well and meets the requirements of the observation.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133230906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rotated-polarization optical feedback is considered. At high levels of optical feedback VCSEL exhibits an abrupt PMS when the polarization angle is swept from 0° to 90° and vice versa. We observe a hysteresis loop (HL) beyond the polarization angle of 45°, which is barely affected by the level of feedback. The experimental results demonstrate that the size of HL strongly depends on the feedback level, where a narrower and wider width HL are observed at higher and lower levels of feedback, respectively. An external optical feedback with the VPOF can significantly alter the bistability properties of PMS in VCSELs. VPOF can provide a new method to obtain the controllable bistable PMS in VCSELs, which is extremely useful for applications that use the optical bistability (OB).","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"687 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113986400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ANN equalizer showed more efficiency in combating both chromatic dispersion (CD) and single-mode fibre (SMF)-induced non-linearities compared to the least mean square (LMS). The equalizer can offer a 1.5 dB improvement in optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) compared to LMS algorithm for 40 Gbit/s C-OOFDM signals when considering only CD. It is also revealed that ANN can double the transmission distance up to 320 km of SMF compared to the case of LMS, providing a nonlinearity tolerance improvement of ~0.7 dB OSNR.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115058091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If any of these conditions is satisfied, the receiver can distinguish the different target positions otherwise it will image them as one single large target. The aim is to overcome intrinsic inefficiencies of the existing host-to-host communication paradigm, as well as to provide new and enhanced services to mobile and fixed users. A key feature of ICN is the support for in-network content caching. In this paper, we present a new cache-aware routing scheme for ICN. Our scheme takes into account the information about the locations of caches in the network and constructs delivery paths for efficient content dissemination. The proposed approach does not impose additional signaling overhead in the network; while at the same time it is agnostic of the cached contents. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified by simulation studies, which show an up to 50% delay reduction compared to traditional routing approaches.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134517380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional flash coding systems employ simple hard-decisions based codes, such as Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) codes, that can correct a fixed, specified number of errors. Thanks to the Bahl, Cocke, Jelinek, and Raviv (BCJR) algorithm, the TCM decoder within the proposed design can provide soft decisions which make it possible to use the more powerful LDPC codes. Moreover, the error-correction performance is further improved since TCM can decrease the raw error rate of MLC and hence relieve the burden of outer LDPC code. The effectiveness of concatenated LDPC-TCM systems has been successfully demonstrated through computer simulations.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116543758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inspired by those challenges, this paper proposes a new routing scheme named Mobility, Energy and Congestion Aware Routing (MECAR) to improve routing performance for MANETs. In this model, a node monitors the mobility, energy consumption and traffic congestion based on a multi-metric named AEC (constructed by Average Encounter Rate, Energy Consumption Rate, and Congestion Factor) to choose the most stable, power-rich and congestion-free path for routing. As a result, packet delivery ratio of the proposed model improves almost 20% compared to that of original AODV protocol while the number of dead nodes and routing overheads decreases significantly.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125895266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mitigation technique involves the utilization of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) whose gain saturates in normal link operation, but which also provides a power-dependent varying gain when the link experiences a fade. The unbalanced SOA operation serves towards the equalization of the signal power at its output and as a result the link fades become less severe and of reduced duration. Our analytical results predict that the fade probability can be reduced by over 90% under negative-exponential fading conditions, while the scintillation index at the SOA output is also reduced by 75% if an optimal level of received power, and therefore gain saturation, is observed. Finally, our results show that the average duration of fades can also be reduced by a significant percentage of 68% for the same level of gain saturation in the SOA.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127350543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
