A distributed adaptive sensor network considers spatio-temporal challenges simultaneously. To analyze diffusion networks under TVAR modeling problem circumstances, we investigate and elaborate on their performance under non-stationary conditions. Different versions of diffusion networks are then theoretically compared under the problem conditions. Furthermore, their superiority to single point observations is shown. Finally, the proposed algorithms are implemented on a raw and real sensor network dataset recorded from moving vehicles. The experimental results well support the theoretical findings, and demonstrate the excellence and efficacy of distributed diffusion adaptive networks for this case.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117270215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this protocol the radius of virtual circles and the size of clusters would be increased by the distance to base station (BS) and, therefore, the size of clusters are different. In each cluster, the leader nodes are responsible for aggregating data from ordinary nodes and sending them to cluster heads. Simulation results demonstrate that proposed protocol increases the network lifetime over 73% and 21% comparing to LEACH and DSBCA protocols.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"1998 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128254991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The chosen moduli set offers the advantage of shift and add approach. The proposed filter architecture is compared with an earlier proposed version of reconfigurable RNS FIR filter. The filters are synthesized using Cadence RTL compiler in UMC 90 nm technology. The performance of the filters are compared in terms of Area (A), Power (P), and Delay (T). The results show that the proposed architecture offers significant improvement in terms of area, delay and area-delay product(AT). Proposed approach is also verified functionally using Altera DSP Builder.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126518741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It uses low cost LEDs as optical receivers. It was shown that the recorded PPG signals are larger in magnitude by nearly five times when using four LEDs in a suitable formation as photo detectors. The PPG signals were transmitted wirelessly and stored on a PC. The signals were processed to extract heart beat rate, respiration rate and SpO2 blood oxygen saturation level. The results that demonstrated the effectiveness of the device's operation are presented.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125302965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, the schemes are not suitable to detect both lock and out-of-lock condition accurately. This paper describes a novel mixed signal scheme which incorporates detection of both lock and out-of-lock conditions of a PLL. The scheme covers integer and fractional PLL modes of operations and programmable to generate lock condition to a very high accuracy. Furthermore, this digital detection scheme is not prone to process, voltage and temperature variations.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127519692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, we formulate the problem as a stochastic linear programming (SLP) problem. Then, we transform this model into equivalent deterministic Second-Order Cone Programming (SOCP) problems. All models are intended to maximize the bit rates throughput of the network subject to subcarrier and power user constraints. Our preliminary numerical results show that the joint chance constraint formulation is slightly conservative than the individual probabilistic one. Finally, we show that our approximation of the deterministic joint probabilistic model is very tight.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117091392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we propose a multi-band architecture named Block-Spectrally Efficient Frequency Division Multiplexing (B-SEFDM) for a large non-orthogonal system. Furthermore, a Block Efficient Detector (BED) is presented in this work and computer simulations show that the performance is improved by at most 4.5 dB while the complexity is decreased by one order of magnitude. Finally, a butterfly structure, which is reconfigurable according to required complexity/throughput, is proposed here for the detection.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127290630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The biosensor is consisted of a ring resonator and two waveguides. The ring resonator with two end waveguides in both sides, are placed in middle of the structure. Due to the analyte binding to the sensing holes, the refractive index of holes is changed and consequently the resonant wavelength is shifted. According to the results, the resonant wavelength shift in the range of 1.33-1.55 is linear with respect to the refractive index variations. The quality factor and sensitivity of biosensor are respectively obtained about 2840 and 3.0 nm/fg.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"172 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127550336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In speech recognition systems MFCC and HFCC are the two main techniques used. It will be shown in this paper that it presents some modifications to the original HFCC method. In our work the effectiveness of proposed changes to HFCC called Modified Human Factor cepstral coefficients (MHFCC) were tested and compared against the original HFCC features. The prosodic features such as jitter and shimmer are added to baseline spectral features. The above-mentioned techniques were tested with impulsive signals under various noisy conditions within AURORA databases.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126037589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model aims to study the influence of the dielectric properties of the muscle on electromyography signals. The paper focuses on the electrode configuration and its effect on the muscle myoelectric activity detected at the surface. Unlike previous models, the source signal is be generated from recorded intramuscular myoelectric measurements. The finite element model is compared to experimental data and shows a strong correlation in the frequency spectra (r=0.7276) for monopolar recordings but deviates from experimental observations for a bipolar arrangement. Modelling inaccuracies from the input data and experimental noise related to the bipolar modelling are explored.","PeriodicalId":199393,"journal":{"name":"2014 9th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Sign (CSNDSP)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115582779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
