Wideband characterization of the dielectric properties of interconnect plastics is indispensable to characterize the signal integrity performance of interconnects, which are used in a large number of consumer electronic devices. In this paper, wideband dielectric characterization of Triethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate Ester (TrEGDMA) organic plastic material is presented using transmission line technique for the frequency range of 1-17 GHz. Debye models are used to analytically describe the frequency dependency of TrEGDMA dielectric properties obtained from the measured data. These models can be utilized by commercial software packages to assign frequency dependent material properties to a solid made of TrEGDMA plastic.","PeriodicalId":193736,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129451303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among those smart devices, the TV is becoming an important one. Hence, developing more advanced functionality in TV sets which take in consideration internet usage and connectivity with different devices is fundamental. Across the globe, hybrid television standards are being developed, which are aiming at the integration of broadcast and broadband networks. In Brazil, Unicamp is a member of the project GLOBAL ITV and has been developing and implementing application integration between Hybrid Broadcast and Broadband TV (HbbTV), a European hybrid TV standard, and the Brazilian digital TV structure, which middleware is called Ginga. This present work presents a transport stream transmission model containing both Ginga and HbbTV application in a DSM-CC object carousel simultaneously, achieving coexistence between then, further include second screen applications.","PeriodicalId":193736,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126797354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is essential to understand and quantify the amount of energy consumed by each task performed by motes in a network and hence make the best use of the energy available. In this paper, we present a numerical analysis of how the lifetimes of Wireless Sensor Networks are impacted by the use of different transmission power levels. The analysis of different transmission power, which is a novel feature available on some radio modules used in some WSN motes, was motivated by its current application on both academic works and commercial solutions.","PeriodicalId":193736,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE)","volume":"36 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120817497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These devices have many useful functions for route guidance, audio services, and gathering traffic information. In addition, smartphones are being used as on-vehicle information devices because of the ubiquity of low-priced applications that can be used. Location context is one of the recognized contexts in our proposed system. The context shows the degree of driving experience with a specific location. Our proposed system requires driver's location context because the context plays an important role in correctly guessing which function is required by a user at any given time. Therefore, we are researching a method for recognizing location context. In the primary stage, we implemented a prototype system based on a simple hypothesis that the familiarity of roads for a user and the frequency of his/her travel are in relative proportion. In this paper, we present an improved method for recognizing the location context.","PeriodicalId":193736,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129068192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These low-cost compact projectors provide high-brightness and high-resolution images. In addition, the LED bias current can be incrementally adjusted individually for each color LED, i.e. Red, Green, and Blue, which allow a more accurate tuning capability than in traditional light bulb projectors. The variation of current consumption and the projected brightness for each color LED may cause unbalanced color gamut and white point. This paper proposes a closed-loop system that explores LED projectors features by increasing the color gamut range and by permitting dynamic dimming, while white point balance and power consumption are preserved.","PeriodicalId":193736,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics (ISCE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114146100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
