However, the present way of its transport planning is far from optimal. Information inaccessibility and old-fashioned communication are key issues that prevent planning reaching optimal. In addition, none contractual relationship between different stakeholders (e.g. terminal operators and barge operators) makes central planning even more difficult. This paper describes the development of an agent-based information integrated platform for hinterland waterway barge transport planning. The objective is to facilitate data exchange and establish an optimal plan for involved parties. The system can be described as a decision support and communication system in which soft agents handle communication tasks and exchange desired information among different stakeholders. The agents interact via a web interface with a so called hinterland transportation planning system where agent behaviour is coordinated, the level of information exchange is controlled and plan is created and stored. A prototype of the agent-based intelligent system has been developed which demonstrated the successful agent functioning and coordination between different agents in a web-based environment.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121846722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural network, the discrete Hopfield feedback network (DHN), and the counterpropagation network (CPN) are discussed under the conditions of outside and within the maximal memory capacity. The experimental simulations of the three kind of networks are realized to data de-noise, the experimental results are compared and analyzed, show that both BAM network and discrete Hopfield network within the maximal memory capacity have all good de-noise effect, fewer iterations, less training time, and operation stability. The CPN is sensitive to initial weight values, good de-noising effect, but more iterations. When noise is increased and outside the maximal memory capacity of BAM network or DHN, we find that the CPN is of better de-noise performance than discrete Hopfield networks and Kosko's BAM net under the condition of overstepping the maximal memory capacity. Full CPN is of better de-noise performance than one-way CPN, but the former takes a longer training time.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116930633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Social manufacturing represents a paradigm shift in traditional manufacturing models; in social manufacturing, the role of customers changes from being passive to being fully active agents in the manufacturing of products. This shift allows for the opportunity to produce customized products according to the needs of every single customer in the society. The demand of consumers in the apparel industry is rapidly changing to becoming more personalized. Consequently, social manufacturing can dramatically contribute to customization in the apparel industry through the help of 3D printing. In this paper, we study how social manufacturing can redefine the entire value chain of the apparel industry .","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132672380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on analysis of massive amounts of Cookie data generated by Internet users, RTB advertising has the potential of identifying in real-time the characteristic and interest of the target audience in each ad impression, automatically delivering best-matched ads, and optimizing their prices via auction-based programmatic buying scheme. RTB has significantly changed online advertising, evolving from the traditional pattern of “media buying” and “ad-slot buying” to “target-audience buying”, and is expected to be the standard business model for online advertising in the future. In this paper, we discussed the current market practice of RTB advertising, presented the key roles and typical business processes in RTB markets, and summarized the current research progresses in the existing literature. The macroscopic S model [1] provides good accuracy in prediction but the nonlinearity makes it with low efficiency when solving optimization in MPC. In this paper, a further simplified prediction model with little loss in accuracy is developed based on the S model. The model gives explicit relationship between green time and queue length in urban traffic network. It can be easily used for analysis and optimization for traffic congestion. Simulation results show that the new model runs faster than S model and it still preserves relatively high accuracy.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115361415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
