CTM (Cell Transmission Model) can describe traffic flow behavior such as wave and queue. However, original CTM theory has difficulties in describing urban road traffic networks. To address this problem, a novel Cell-Link Model (CLM) is developed in this paper. The CLM establishes road traffic network modeling procedure and puts forward a series of steps to implement network abstraction. The present method is applied to state forecasting of a sample network, and simulation results show that, our method can obtain accurate predict results with high computational efficiency. Therefore, the present method can meet the demand of urban road traffic network state forecasting.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"106 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120971238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact many practical solutions will develop that allow drivers and managements to optimize resources and to contain costs and the emissions of pollutants by applying communication systems between vehicles (V2V) and between vehicles and infrastructure (V2I). Along this mainstream this paper present a cooperative system which offer drivers the ability to manage their consumption and driving style, suggesting corrections to the behavior usually adopted. The new contribution of this paper is the cooperative approach between drivers to achieve a common goal of a better common energy consumption strategy. Since the fuel consumption has to be evaluated with regards to the specific vehicle type the system is based also on crowdsourcing of the specific vehicle consumption performances. The paper describes a system that gathers data on fuel consumption from the cooperating drivers that by can build together the data set necessary to the system itself and accept this new paradigm: crowd sourced cooperation for a better world.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133066139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A dialog is a visual knowledge representation of certain procedural knowledge enriched with interactive guides. To empower the usage of dialog, we further provide a service-orientation for Dialog Manager, aiming to enable customized service-based knowledge applications. Such service-orientation will enable a user to select services to answer questions from dialog automatically during runtime. It will also enable the subject matter expert (SME) to specify the external services to make good use of user dialog data to facilitate ticket issuing and resolution. Through a case study, we will demonstrate the great business impact of our proposal.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131701831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given a limited budget on a search market during a certain period, an advertiser has to distribute her budget to a series of sequential temporal slots (i.e., days, weeks, or months), during which advertisers must avoid the budget being used up quickly, so as to keep the budget for potential clicks with better performance in the future. Considering the optimal budgets over these temporal slots as fuzzy variables, we establish a two-stage fuzzy budget allocation model, and use particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to solve it in case when these optimal budgets are characterized by discrete fuzzy variables. We also conduct experiments to validate our model and algorithm. The experimental results show that our model can outperform other five budget allocation strategies in terms of reducing the revenue loss of the advertiser.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126394139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most of existing studies about competitive influence diffusion mainly focus on two-information competition mechanism. To date, the competitive influence maximization problem considering the mechanism of multi-information competition is still not well studied. In this paper, we conducted computational experiments to study the competitive influence maximization with multi-information competition mechanism. By applying an information diffusion model called limited attention model (LAM), we carried on two computational experiments to validate the model and investigate the relation between seed selection methods and the properties of information cascades. Our experimental results show that 1) the LAM model could reproduce the features of empirical distribution in Chinese social media; 2) the eigenvector centrality-based heuristic is a reasonable seed selection method for competitive influence maximization problem. The results of this paper can provide significant potential implications for information system design and management.","PeriodicalId":191638,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133011513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
