First, the ultrasound frames and position information are compounded into a 3D volume using the Bin-filling method. Then, the Hole-filling method is used to repair gaps in the volume. The conventional Olympic operator defines the empty voxels by sorting the neighboring voxels, removing the n% of the upper and lower values, and averaging them to attain the value to fill the empty voxels. The empty voxel estimation can be improved by thresholding the range width of its neighboring voxels and adjusting it to the average values. The method is tested on a hole-manipulated volume derived from a cropped 3D ultrasound volume of a part of the spine. Our MAE calculation on the proposed technique shows improved result compared to all tested existing methods.","PeriodicalId":191194,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Instrumentation, Communication, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering 2009","volume":"97 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123691221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trachea is led outside to the neck and thus is separated from the esophagus. The patient no longer breathes through its mouth but through a hole in his neck. This drastic change in the human body causes a loss of the ability of speech for the patient. Patient will learn to speech using esophageal speech or using an electro-larynx. This paper describes the preliminary speech spectrum analysis resulted from the normal voice and Indonesian laryngectomised patient with and without electro larynx. The voice will be recorded and analyzed using a spectrum analysis application to know the fundamental frequency. The result shows that the fundamental frequency of ‘a’ and ‘b’ sound from laryngectomised patient without electrolarynx are 363. Hz and 727 Hz, respectively. By using an electrolarynx those frequency are 888 Hz and 1000 Hz, respectively. It is hope that these result can be used to develop a new electronic voice producing element with an appropriate voice based on each human voice characteristics.","PeriodicalId":191194,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Instrumentation, Communication, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering 2009","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116659284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the applications may include IP video camera allowing the authority to observe the affected area and act accordingly. The emergency team can use WiFi coverage from EBAN sky station to get internet access, VoIP, video conference and tailored emergency applications such as Emergency Medical Care Information System (EMCIS). Atmospheric disturbances and its effect to the system performance are considered in term of platform and communication design. WiFi solution is selected because of its popularity and relatively easy to deploy. According to the trial result the WiFi-based EBAN system is able to provide coverage about 5.5 km radius or 72 km square from sky station at altitude 440 meter.","PeriodicalId":191194,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Instrumentation, Communication, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering 2009","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115173339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chaos causes instability and voltage collapse and must be avoided. The ANFIS-based Composite Controller (ANFIS-CC) is proposed to solve these phenomena. The ANFIS-CC has a more efficient computation than a Mamdani fuzzy logic controller. A three-bus power system with DE and additional reactive load are used to validate the proposed method performance. The proposed method is very effective in the control and suppression of chaos in power systems.","PeriodicalId":191194,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Instrumentation, Communication, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering 2009","volume":"153 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121992566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiments were motivated by so many research works focusing on performance improvement of GF operators. Numerous variants of operators were formed based on various combination of operation types (multiplication, division, inverse, square), representation basis (Polynomial, Normal, Dual), and processing types (serial, parallel). Each of the variants has the most efficient form in either time (fastest) or space (smallest occupied area) when implemented in FPGA chips. In fact, GF operators are not utilized individually, rather integrated one to the others in implementing algorithms, mostly in error correction codes and cryptography applications. The experiments based on the implementation of Reed Solomon Encoder and Decoder RS(15,11) 4-bit using VHDL by means of two synthesis tools the Xilinx ISE 8.2i and the Altium ProChip Designer concludes that application performance mainly depends on the composition and distribution of the operators as well as their interaction and interconnection within the system architecture.","PeriodicalId":191194,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Instrumentation, Communication, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering 2009","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129655534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
