The drill uses converse piezoelectric effect to work. When exciting voltage is applied on piezoelectric ceramics, the basic structure of the drill will produce longitudinal vibration, which will be converted to local bending vibration by the drill bit fixed on the basic structure with an angle. These two vibrations will be composed to form the elliptical motion. This will provide power for cutting or drilling. The finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to design the structure of the piezoelectric drill, the simulation reveals the cutting locus of the drill under the working frequency. A prototype is manufactured according to the simulation, the laser scanning experiment to the prototype shows that the working frequency of the drill is 56 kHz, namely the cutting motion can reach 3360000 times/min and the cutting amplitude can be limited at micro-size. The effect of the two washing methods (distilled water and acetic acid solutions) on the piezoelectric properties of the BT ceramics was studied. BT ceramics with the higher piezoelectric properties (d33 value is over 190 pC/N) was obtained from the powders washed by acetic acid solution. The BaTiO3 ceramics from three types (BT01, BT03 and BT05) of hydrothermally synthesized BaTiO3 powders were sintered using traditional sintering method and microwave sintering method separately. Their piezoelectric properties were investigated and compared. The results indicate that only the specimens sintered by traditional sintering method from BT03 powders have better structure and higher piezoelectric properties (d33 value about 350 pC/N), all the specimens sintered by the microwave method exhibit high d33 value (over 350 pC/N). The whole model was divided into two parts. Part I was composed of multiple circular domains which include the boundaries of multiple hills, and all the rest can be considered as part square. Therefore the lower half boundaries of multiple circular domains were ldquocommon boundariesrdquo of two parts. The next process was constructing the suitable displacement solutions in two parts respectively. Considering the boundary conditions of common boundaries and the elastic inclusion, a series infinite algebraic equation for dynamic stress concentration factors (DSCF) can be obtained. Both piezoelectric and piezomagnetic materials are assumed to be transversely isotropic. The displacement transfer coefficients of all the scattered waves are calculated by the transfer matrix and the stiffness matrix methods. Numerically calculated results show that the band structures are described consistently by the dispersion curves and the frequency responses of the transmitted waves. The most energy is carried by the transmitted waves which are of the same mode as the incident wave when the frequencies are at the passbands. However, the displacement transfer coefficients of quasi-transverse (QSV) or quasi-longitudinal (QP) waves arising from wave mode conversion may be very large at some particular frequencies in some passbands. As a linear theory based on the assumption of infinitesimal deformation, its applications have been limited mainly to vibration frequency analysis. Many important properties of quartz crystal resonators such as the electrical circuit parameters, and nonlinear phenomena such as the drive-level dependence (DLD), have to be studied with the consideration of higher-order material constants and subsequent inclusion of nonlinear strain components. This, in turn, implies that the consideration of large deformation related to the driving electrical field. The need of nonlinear theory for the analysis of high frequency vibrations of piezoelectric crystal plates have been noticed before, and research work concerning large electrical fields and deformation have been initiated for the calculation of electrical properties and DLD of quartz crystal resonators by many investigators recently. In this study, we start with higher-order constitutive relation which includes higher-order elastic constants. Then, nonlinear terms of strain components are considered in a compatible and systematic manner. By following Mindlin's procedure in deriving the two-dimensional equations, nonlinear Mindlin plate equations for large deformation are obtained. Such materials and structures can respond to external electromechanical environments. This article studies a piezoelectric layer bonded to an elastic substrate subjected to static electromechanical loads, both of which are of finite length. A system of differential equation which own mix boundary condition is formulated in terms of the materials' physics characteristic and load character. The stress in the interface is determined by using separate variable and Fourier cosine transforms, and numerical analysis is performed and discussed.
