The ultrasonic brake takes the advantage of the ultrasonic levitation. First, the structure of the stator of the brake is designed. In the FE analysis, the mode of flexural vibration of the stator is used. The stator is made of stainless steel and fixed by three pins on the outer diameter, so that the stator vibrates more fiercely in the axial direction. Secondly, an experiment on ultrasonic levitation to determine the relationship between static friction torque and voltage and frequency is performed. Then we know that the rotor could rotate overcoming the pre-pressure of 16.7 N when the voltage is 100 Vp-p, and frequency is 23.5 KHz. Finally, a method of assembling is proposed so that make diameter is smaller and can adjust the pre-pressure. So, the brake has a 45 mm diameter and 12 mm in thickness. The brake overcomes the disadvantage of ordinary brakes, such as over size, high lubrication, and so on.","PeriodicalId":190941,"journal":{"name":"2008 Symposium on Piezoelectricity, Acoustic Waves, and Device Applications","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129165665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed linear noncontact type actuator can levitate and carry the object along the direction of traveling wave in the planar plate, which produces the high intensity acoustic field. Moreover the object is suspended at the height only between tens and hundreds of microns. For the important component of linear noncontact type actuator, ultrasonic transducer, the theoretical analysis and optimization design were carried out. The prototypes were manufactured and the modal parameters were measured. Then the validation of the analysis and design for the novel actuator stator was obtained, which laid the foundation for the further study on the NFAL mechanism and the corresponding mathematical model representing the complete actuator.","PeriodicalId":190941,"journal":{"name":"2008 Symposium on Piezoelectricity, Acoustic Waves, and Device Applications","volume":"92 12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128019675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the merits of piezoelectric transformer are high-frequency, high step-up and no electromagnetic pollution relative to the electromagnetic transformer, it is particularly suited to the ozone generator. A laminated circuit piezoelectric transformer is designed for the ozone generator. The power that is transformed by the thickness shear vibration mode and the radial stretching vibration mode is expected to be higher in output power than the Rosen-type. The surface of layers is assumed to be mechanically free and electrically open. The electro-elastic fields have been given explicitly by using the perturbation concept and the method of Laurent series expansion. Based on the derived solutions, numerical examples are given to illustrate the influences of dislocation location, piezoelectric effect and material properties on the interfacial stresses and image force. The obtained results show that: the piezoelectric effect is able to change the interaction of a screw dislocation with an interface and a free boundary; the difference between elastic constants has obvious influence on the interfacial stress.","PeriodicalId":190941,"journal":{"name":"2008 Symposium on Piezoelectricity, Acoustic Waves, and Device Applications","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121285683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The frequency of ultrasonic was 20 kHz. The nanocrystalline powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) which has been widely used to investigate the chemical and physical properties of many kinds of samples. For the special electronic structure of the rare earth ion, Nd3+ was used as a probe by photoacoustic spectroscopy to study the structural variation of the samples treated by ultrasonic irradiation during the sol-gel process. With the temperature of heat treatment increasing, the heat treatment(1-beta) of Nd3+ ion increases.
