It is generally accepted that sentiment analysis can capture aspects of such moods, feelings and attitudes and can be used to summarize a novel's plot in a story arc. With the availability of a number of algorithms to automatically extract sentiment-based arcs, new approaches for their utilization becomes pertinent. We propose to use nonlinear adaptive filtering and fractal analysis in order to analyze the narrative coherence and dynamic evolution of a novel. We propose to use Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, the winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize for Literature as an example, we show that: 1) nonlinear adaptive filtering extracts a story arc that reflects the tragic trend of the novel; 2) The story arc displays persistent dynamics as measured by the Hurst exponent at short and medium time scales; 3) the plots' dynamic evolution is reflected in the time-varying Hurst exponent. We argue that these findings are indicative of the potential multifractal theory has for computational narratology and large-scale literary analysis. Specifically, that the global Hurst exponent of a story arc is an index of narrative coherence that can identify bland, incoherent and coherent narratives on a continuous scale. And, further, that the local time-varying Hurst exponent captures variation of a novel's plot such that the extreme have specific narratological interpretations.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"257 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132924175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Referring to the relevant studies, analyze the influence of the operation modes of intercity railway in the case of a known train diagram, and conclude the characteristics of train-sets' uncertain railroad region and empty train dispatching. Then based on the train-set operation network and maintenance conditions, establish the multi-objective optimal model, and combine the tabu search algorithm with the ant search algorithm to solve this problem. In the case, compare the results and calculation time calculated by Lingo with these calculated by the algorithm, the calculation time by the designed algorithm is shorter, and the efficiency of programming is faster, so the feasibility of the model and algorithm was verified. Finally, by comparing some indexes of models with different objectives and constraints, the practical significance of the proposed train-set operation model for intercity railways is verified.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":" 37","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132188887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inferences about social networks are made possible by observational data exchanged by people on the Internet. In this paper, through the analysis of ConNIe algorithm, the effects of sparse parameter, propagation time distribution model and its parameters on the inferred results of this algorithm are studied. Then, based on the research, this paper use perceptron algorithm to classify the propagation time distribution model and use particle swarm optimization algorithm to optimize the sparse parameter and the parameters of propagation time distribution model. Finally, a social network inference framework based on ConNIe algorithm is proposed to make up for ConNIe. Some of the shortcomings of the algorithm have gotten over. The research in this paper helps people to understand the social network itself, and it has a wide range of practical value in the fields of social public opinion control and marketing.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121253441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Obviously, surveillance videos became a new data source of spatiotemporal trajectories. However, a typical trajectory semantic enrichment process receives as input spatiotemporal trajectories. The process methods cannot be applied to video data directly. In this paper, we propose a semantic enrichment process framework for human trajectories in surveillance videos. It includes trajectory identification in videos, trajectory transformation, sub-traj ectory segmentation, segment annotation. We can derive semantic trajectories from surveillance videos through the four phases. Having observed the common occurrence of the similarities between individual trajectories, we propose a grid index-based method to search similar pre-annotated sub-trajectory segments in pixel space for retrieving semantic trajectories in order to enhance the performance of this approach. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed approach by using a real world data set.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114364868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To understand if a Twitter user could exhibit depression over a period of time, we applied techniques in stages to discover words that are negative in expression. Existing methods either use a single step or a data subset, whereas we applied a multi-step approach which allowed us to identify potential users and then discover the words that expressed negativity by these users. We address some Twitter specific characteristics in our research. One of which is that Twitter data can be very large, hence our desire to be able to process the data efficiently. The other is that due to its enforced character limitation, the style of writing makes interpreting and obtaining the semantic meaning of the words more challenging. Results show that the sentiment of these words can be obtained and scored efficiently as the computation on these dataset were narrowed to only these selected users. We also obtained the stress scores which correlated well with negative sentiment expressed in the content. This work shows that by first identifying users and then using methods to discover words can be a very effective technique.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"251 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132688420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of face de-identification is to hide the identity of individuals in a video or image while still retaining certain facial attributes. The mainstream methods of face de-identification are mostly based on the k-same framework, which generates anonymized faces that are not diverse and have poor visual quality. This paper presents a face de-identification method that uses an improved evolutionary generative adversarial network to synthesize faces to de-identificate, using the structural similarity index and the distance between the original face and the de-identificated face for generator selection, choosing the optimal generator to enter the next round of evolution. We have proved the feasibility of the proposed method through extensive experiments, indicating that our alteration method is indeed effective.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133339737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to return to the validity of the data, the proportion of international-oriented entrepreneurship activities to total entrepreneurship activities and TEA indicators of emerging economies multiply to obtain absolute indicators of international entrepreneurship activities. That is, among the population aged 18–64 years in a country, the time spent participating in international-oriented entrepreneurship activities or managing international-oriented new business activities (at least 25% of customers come from abroad) is less than 42 months. The proportion of the population to the total population is recorded as TEAIntl. This study collects data synthetically, and synthesizes the influence of institutional environment and association activities on entrepreneurship activities through quantitative analysis, so as to highlight the characteristics of activities.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129743888","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, conventional graph ranking has two shortcomings when deployed for social image search. First, as social tags are noisy and incomplete, using that, the initial ranked list of images is inaccurate and impacts the following visual re-ranking. Another tough issue is how to conduct query-sensitive image re-ranking when multiple visual feature sets are available. In this work, we propose a sparse multigraph ranking framework, in which multiple graphs built on different visual features are integrated to simultaneously encode the image ranking. In particular, a sparse constraint is imposed on the fusion of different features, hoping to select a compact yet informative combination of features for different queries. To deal with the highly noisy issue inherent in social tags, a tag refinement solution along with word embedding is utilized to derive the more accurate initial ranking list, which services as the supervision signal for the proposed graph ranking framework. Extensive experimental analyses and evaluations on NUS-WIDE dataset demonstrate the proposed method can achieve state-of-the-art performance.","PeriodicalId":190867,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC)","volume":"43 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126133563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
