In this obvious issue, conducted through descriptive qualitative research method, the current study draws attention to design a model based on an ecological approach as an early intervention guide for families of children with disabilities. The data were collected from three families who possess mentally retarded children, deaf children, and children with autism through interviewing, observation, and document analysis. The results showed that the different parenting patterns among parents tend to lead to authoritarian and over protective behaviour. Parents generally meet great difficulty intervening their children with disabilities. The formulated model encompasses an early intervention scheme that refers to the concept of Family Quality of Life (FQOL). The five associated stages are as follows: (1) setting goals, objectives, and results, (2) setting materials, (3) implementation of strategies (4) practice or simulation (4) evaluation, (5) follow-up. Through early intervention training based on the principles of andragogy and the principles of intervention, it gives the family the opportunity to be the main environment for children to frequently engage their appropriate roles. Early intervention training program is a noteworthy part of attempts to empower families of children with special needs. Openness early on, support and family commitment to their respective roles and responsibilities in implementing an ecological model have delivered valuably positive effects, and it is therefore argued that an ecological model can be utilized as a guide for teachers and therapists in applying appropriate interventions. This is caused by the role of teachers who serve as the only source learning, as well as teachers who play a more active role in the learning process so less encouraging students to play an active role in seeking and finding their own knowledge. In creating a good learning process, a teacher should con-sider the characteristics of each student including students’ motivation in learning. This study aims to determine: (1) the differences of critical thinking skills between students who are taught by nested type integrated learning model and those who are taught by lecturing method, (2) the differences of critical thinking ability between students who have high learning motivation and those who have low learning motivation, (3) the interaction be-tween nested type integrated learning model with students' learning motivation in influencing their critical thinking ability. The aim of this present study was to acquire a comprehensive description in relation to the development of students' democratic attitudes in Civic Education learning using the Time Token Arends model. This study employed a mixed method approach and classroom action was specifically used as the research method. The instruments used in this study covered observation, interviews, field records, documentation, and self-assessment scale of students' democratic attitudes. The findings of this study were: in cycle 1, the students’ democratic attitudes were categorized inadequate with the percentage of 42.4%. In this cycle, in terms of the indicators of having courage to voice opinions, ask questions, and answer questions, the students were considered adequate. In fact, there were some students who had courage to voice their opinions even though they were also still shy and in need of the teacher stimulus. On the other hand, in cycle 2, the students’ democratic attitudes underwent progress with the percentage of 87.9%. Therefore, the students here were categorized as good. The alternative taken to achieve this goal is to apply peer tutoring learning media based on Android applications with emphasis learners learning independence especially life skills subjects. The development of this learning media is based on the facts and the thought that the learning process implemented tends to be very conventional and has not used an Android-based media. Tutors also have not optimized the potential of learners to share experiences in meeting learning needs. The research method used is research and development with the following steps: (1) a preliminary study to research and collect information and literature to develop of learning media, (2) compiling conceptual learning media to develop the prototypes and (3) conducting limited trials on the learning media. The results showed that the weakness of tutors used of instructional media was due of the limited availability of Android application-based media facilities owned by community learning centre (CLC), namely: (1). 47% tutors have never made an Android application-based learning media that fits to the learner’s characteristics, (2) 80% tutors did not organized learners to use learning media, (3). 47% tutors did not use media that is suitable with the learning objectives. This condition led to the need of the development an Android application-based peer tutoring learning media as a learning model using Mobile Phone at the teaching and learning process. However, having a child with special needs is not something expected by any parents. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have become a challenge for parents to develop potentials in them. Unfortunately, many parents feel stressed and unconfident in their own ability, thus fully relying on physicians or therapist for the therapy process. The training and workshop of Independent Intervention Program (Program Intervensi Mandiri or PIM) are activities focused on improving parents’ ability in designing and implementing their own program for their children. This present study was conducted to determine the effectivity of PIM training and workshop towards parents’ affective functions. Quasi-experiment pretest-posttest method was employed in this study. The result shows that there is a significant difference observed in four aspects, 1) the confidence in performing social intervention on children, 2) the belief in the success of the intervention process, 3) the expectation regarding children’s development, and 4) the lower stress level when facing the children and the impact of the hindrances. The research adopted qualitative approach with triangulation as data collection technique, namely observation, interview, and questionnaire. Data and information were collected from five respondents, consisting of: program manager, informant, student, and program administrator. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the policy makers in determining and conducting evaluation, including designing, implementing, analyzing, and interpreting the program. Thus, the fulfillment of the program’s goals can be found out and benchmarked for the improvement of future programs.
