First, this paper makes pretreatment to the paper money, and then for the rapidity and accuracy requirements, a new identification method is presented which based on intersection change and the distance difference between the two points of the character on the special location. By the intersection changes between character and horizontal line judge whether there arc. On the special line of intersection change, calculate the distance difference between two points from left to right, comparing with the setting threshold, to determine open arc or closed arc. Finally, some character could be distinguished by the opening direction of the open arc. In this method, the location of difference value is confirmed through the programming which adapts various circumstances, so the adaptability is very high. And as classification features is less, then computing is low. Therefore, this identification system owns the quick and accurate feature, and the accuracy reaches to 97.5%.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133181523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This typically have been achieved by the application of expert knowledge of plant operation and by the appropriate selection of weighting gains. The objective of clustering is to find the data structure and also to partition the data set into groups with similar individuals. A mean shift-based method had been proposed as a clustering algorithm. However, most mean shift-based clustering algorithms are used for numeric data. In this paper, we propose a mean shift-based clustering algorithm for directional data. The clustering algorithm gives us a new way in the analysis of grouped directional data on the plane. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate its effectiveness and superiority.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134209339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The probability distribution model of promising population is estimated iteratively in EDAs, and the new generation is sampled from the estimated model. An EDA with Gumbel copula is proposed in this paper. In order to estimating the joint, the empirical margins of each variable are estimated separately, and the relationship of variables is presented by Gumbel copula. On the ground of copula theory, the joint is the composite function of the copula and the margins. This algorithm simplifies the operator to estimating the multivariate distribution. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is equivalent to some conventional continuous EDAs in performance.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129443466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a novel evolutionary analog circuit synthesis scheme, and a new fault tolerance design strategy. The proposed scheme transforms the topology and size of circuitry to a uniformed continuous space, in which the circuit representation space is closure. The proposed fault tolerance design strategy takes the parameter drift of circuit component as a anti-noise issue, and deal with it in evolution precess. Experimental results show that the proposed circuit representation scheme and fault tolerance design strategy can work successfully on automatic analogy filter synthesis, as well as automatic fault tolerance design. Comparing with other evolutionary methods before, the proposed scheme performs better on large-scale problems of circuit synthesis with higher search efficiency, lower computational complexity, and less computing time. The proposed fault tolerance design strategy is of practice value in engineering applications.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133730665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
