First, according to the AE signals from different tool cutting periods, multiple chaos descriptions, such as reconstructing the strange attractor track and Poincare map, computing correlation dimension and the max Lyapunov exponent, are used to prove the existing of chaotic characteristics in the series. Then, use the least square method to fit a curve to the computed characteristics points, including the correlation dimension and the max Lyapunov exponent. Furthermore, the developing trend of these two parameters is discussed. The results show that chaotic phenomena exist in the acoustic emission signal, and the chaotic characteristics, like correlation dimension and the max Lyapunov exponent, will change with the development of tool wear process. Therefore relationship analysis between chaotic characteristics of AE series and the tool wear condition may provide a new path for online monitoring of tool cutting process.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123646956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concept of complex fuzzy sets (CFSs) is an extension of traditional fuzzy set whose membership degrees are within a unit disk in the complex plane. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm and the recursive least square estimator (RLSE) algorithm are used in hybrid way to train the proposed complex neuro-fuzzy system (CNFS). The PSO is used to adjust the premise parameters of the CNFS, and the RLSE is used to update the consequent parameters. With the experimental results, the CNFS shows better performance than the traditional neuro-fuzzy system (NFS) that is designed with regular fuzzy sets. Moreover, the PSO-RLSE hybrid learning method for the CNFS improves the rate of learning convergence and shows better performance in accuracy. In order to test the feasibility and approximation performance of the proposed approach, two benchmark functions are used for the proposed approach. The results by the proposed approach compared to other approaches. Excellent performance by the proposed approach has been observed.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125111105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cultural Algorithms is an evolutionary model inspired by the cultural evolution process which shows many excellent characteristics and has succeeded in solving some complicated problems. Based on the population space in which individual evolves, the belief space is constructed, in which effective implicit information during the evolution process are abstracted and utilized. We propose the new means for designing electronic circuits and introduce the encoding of the circuit as a chromosome, the genetic operators and the fitness function. To save energy and achieve stable production, we establish the simulation model of the calcination process used to find effective control methods. In view of the calcination process parameters of complex mathematical model is difficult, so we expressed directly using neural network method to establish the simulation model of the calcination process. Choosing reasonable state and control variables and collecting actual operation data to train neural network weights. Constructed two types of neural network BPNN and RBFNN based models, both achieved good fitting results. RBFNN based model can reach very high fitting results, but the BPNN based model has good generalization ability. So the BPNN based model can be used as simulation model of the calcination process for exploring new control algorithms.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127751595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Resulting effects from such congestion include long delays in data delivery, wasted resources due to lost or dropped packets, and even possible congestion collapse, in which all communication ceases in the entire network. “Congestion control” mechanism, implemented trough “queue management” algorithms, is the key factor to solve this problem keeping networks efficient and reliable from the user's viewpoint. In this paper by using a two input single output fuzzy logic controller we propose a high performance fuzzy adaptive Active Queue Management (AQM) mechanism based on Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm. Using the computer simulation, several trials were performed. We use Gaussian kernel function to replace the Dirac kernel function, which can decrease the degeneracy problem of the traditional particle filter partly. To further improve the performance of particle filter, we introduce evolutionary strategy into the process of Gaussian kernel particle filtering. It uses only mutation operation, which has less computation than genetic algorithm. And it can prevent the impoverishment problem and steer the particles towards local mode of posterior probability effectively. The proposed method can track fast target robustly using fewer particles than the standard particle filter and Gaussian kernel particle filter.","PeriodicalId":189187,"journal":{"name":"Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129919198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a new two-dimension analysis method for the attribute space division is proposed, which not only reduces the analysis complexity, but also improves the efficiency of attribute division. And a new model for optimizing the division of attribute spaces is proposed. The new model can effectively measure the reasonability of the boundary of attribute spaces and satisfy the condition with maximum and uniformity of the boundary distance of the separation of attribute spaces.
